@and-81

I dont know if this is just me being stupid but in the remotes section of the MP config - I have no remote set? Its just working?

This is my remote control and reciever (note I use a harmony remote with the buttons learnt from the one that came with the reciever).

Cyberlink Media Center Remote Control - With Mini USB IR Receiver - Ebuyer

Thanks for the help!

Appologises.. I have general HID selected and the remote works for most buttons in MP as standard. Play pause stop reverse forward numberkeys back etc etc.

What should I be setting in your plugin for this? I've tried various combinations and different ones but none seem to recognise my reciever.

Hi there,
I managed to get a blaster working. I uninstalled the IR Server Suite and restored the registry settings. I then installed MCE Replacement Plugin - 1[1].0.4.1.zip amd replaced the Microsoft MCE Transceiver.dll file in the plugins process directory with the one from the SP1 for IR Server Suite. I now have a working version of the replacement plugin.
Look forward to the next verison of IRServer Suite. Thanks for all your effort.

Thanks for the feedback. If you have any trouble just let me know.

TheBatfink:

Ahh ok, I'm putting in General HID support in the next version, so that will solve your problem.

graemef:

Try again when the next version comes out and let me know if it helps. Sorry for the trouble.

Cheers,

It works for a bit, and then it stops working. I am not sure what causes it to stop working, but once it does stop working, the light still blinks when I press a button on the remote. Restarting appears to fix it, until it breaks again.

Here is a log of what happens if I attempt to restart the service:

Default can't change stb channels

I have had standalone MP working beautifully for a couple of years. I am now upgrading my system to hopefully allow recording in HD, AC3 so I decided to go to TV server. The new box is running vista 32 which has caused many minor irritations but the final one, which I can't work out is STB blasting. I have installed IR server suite (with tv server off) and tested OK from the plugin configuration tab, but when I run MP there is nothing from the blaster. I have read every post on this forum and a few others as well as trying older versions. Thanks

Strange, it's almost like something else is interfering with the device... What type of remote is it? Original MS OEM?

fwal:
Try updating to the 1.0.4.2 preview.

Wow! That must have been the fastest reply ever. Unfortunately after installing 1.0.4.2 I couldn't blast even from the config. It wasn't picking up the blaster i.e. didn't show any blaster ports. After that I have not been able get into IR blaster for Tv3 config at all, even after uninstalling and re-installing. Maybe I shouldn't have left out the MP Control Plugin. Anyway, it has stopped raining here in Canberra so I had better go and do some work. Thanks, Fraser.
