Country: | Hi Aaron, I have a few questions: 1 In the attached screen the Status never change, it is always ready, Im trying to use a remote from an old videorecorder, and I thought this was the place to map the buttons, but it doesn't react to any button I press , it doesn't matter which remote I use. 2 What is the Abstract remote model for? 3 Are you going to include the "repeat parameter" to be used with ir commands in final version? Thank you again for all your work and patience. Dareh. |

Country: | dareh: 1. That's the right place ... Can you see the button presses in the Debug Client? 2. Abstract Remote Model is a way to treat all the different remotes and devices the same. Basically, when you press the up button on an MCE remote you get a different code to if you press the up button on an iMon remote. With Abstract Remote Model they both get translated into "Up". This is essentially there to provide automatic configuration. It's not enabled by default yet, but in a future version it will be. It will let people install IR Server Suite and have it working 100% out of the box. The best part is that any button that isn't recognized by the Abstract Remote Model will be passed on as usual, and you can always disable it and go back to the old method. Also, you'll be able to selectively disable it for particular ir devices or even individual remote controls. It's going to be a big part of the future of IR Server Suite and you can try it out already if you like. 3. I'll definitely add the repeat parameter to the device setup and look at how I can include it in the blasting commands. I might have to compromise and add a feature to the IR tool to simulate repeats by duplicating the timecode in the file itself. Repeats is really a function of the Pronto file format, but not all the output methods support this ... I could generalize blasting into a "command" that each device provides ... like how girder works ... I've been thinking about that for some time, and for ultimate flexibility it's probably the best way to go ... but I want to keep/make IR Server Suite as easy to use as possible ... Girder has a steep learning curve and I am trying to avoid that while maintaining flexibility ... it's a tricky juggling act, believe me. Cheers,

Country: | Hi Again 1. Yes I can even learn and blast them. 2. It sounds quite good. 3. I can tell you that in the very early versions (before the irserver suite) it used to work, I don't remember which option there was, maybe speed or something like this, but I don't conserve any old version to tell you. there is a program from Jon Rhees , the usb-uirt builder and developer, lrnhelper which has the option to repeat the learnt command the times you want, and it works with my TV, off course this program is for usbuirt only. Thanks again Dareh |

Country: | dareh: If debug client can see the button presses then the MP Control Plugin setup should to ... I'll try to duplicate the problem here tomorrow, if I find the reason I'll post an update. You should make sure that the server host option is set correctly in the MP Control Plugin in the meantime. I'll post back when I have something that will help you with the repeat issue too... Cheers,

| Portal Member | Here are my logs for trying to get the MCE remote working with the iMON IR receiver. Still no luck ![]() The Logs.zip is when I tried as abstract remote. Logs2.zip is when I removed the Abstract Remote and tried with only MCE Remote in the config tool. Thanks. |

Country: | dareh: Get the update from the first post in this thread and let me know if it fixes the problem for you. It should fix the MP Control Plugin problem. maysider2: I'll check it out, thanks for the logs. chemelli: The xml goes in the "All Users\Application Data\IR Server Suite\Input Service\Abstract Remote Maps\Imon" folder. All imon users who want to try out the abstract remote model need to make this update or it will fail. Terriff: See above. The imon update files can now be found in the first post of this thread. @Everyone: So far 1.4.2 RC 1 is looking very good, only a few minor bugs, nothing serious. I think I should be able to go ahead and release a 1.4.2 final real soon. Thanks.
