Cheers,
What do you mean when you say 'Copy your STB settings to the first TV Card'...
Must I go to the second card's STB's and click on copy, will that not overwrite my first cards STB's? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have not experienced the problem that you are referring to so I don't want to break anything.

If it's working for you without a problem then don't change anything.

If you have experienced the problem then you may need to copy your STB settings to the first card to make sure that when the bug occurs you will still get your STB channel changed.

I've made a mistake in the latest update, so I'm re-posting it now ...

Hi Aaron

Im still having problems with the new version and my STB ... as I wrote 1st time in this thread, the MCE ir blaster is working fine with the "old" version of MCE replacement plugin on 0.2.2.0 without any SVN's ... :-( .... I would be nice to use the newest SVN .

Thank you Aaron for a great job !

Best regards

To be honest I have no idea why it wont not work for you. I thought that last set of changes would do the trick, but alas.

If the new changes don't help then I really can't think what it could be...

I'll continue to make changes and try to get it working for you, but I'm really honestly stumped...

Is there any way you could get your hands on a different MCE remote box? And maybe try it with that? If not, don't worry, I'll think of something else ...

If I come up with anything I'll post back.

Sorry,

Hi Aaron,

I am one of those who couldn't get the blaster working in more recent versions. i will download tonite and give it a go to see what happens.

Just a bit of clarification, if you don't mind... I want to use a SVN because I need the scheduling bug fixed. You mention a workaround, is that a workaround on your side or the MP Dev side? I ask so I know which version of SVN to use either a very recent one (maybe even today's) or go farther back when they had supposedly "fixed" the scheduling bug before removing the "fix" more recently. Of course, this is all assuming I'm remember events correctly, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks!

The "fix" which actually caused another strange bug has been removed, but my latest test version has a work-around that should solve everything for 99.9% of users.

Grab a recent SVN (today's will be fine) and give the latest test version a go. Try setting the blaster speed to None and see if that solves your compatibility problem.

Aaron - the other thread (the 54 page one) has been closed without any explanation??

Anyway - just to say that I have been unable to try your suggestion in your last reply to me because my video card has given up the ghost, and the onboard graphics will no longer run MCE or mediaportal - I think because it can't handle directx version 9.

Anyway - I have switched to GBPVR and an older haup pvr150, rather than my mce version of the pvr150. I have got the stb changer up and working using haup's driver for my sky digibox. Shame, really, because i would like to use the mce card, mce remote, and mce keyboard. I now have to wait until i can get a fanless pci video card (not easy in the back of beyond here in Spain!)

I wish you well with your efforts for MP. Perhaps, when you have cracked that, you could look at the situation over here at GBPVR. It is a great piece of software and gives MP a run for its money. BUT IT COULD DO WITH A SIMILAR PIECE OF WORK FROM YOU!!

Regards

Richard

Hey Richard,

The thread being closed is not my doing, but it's probably for the best. It was far too long.

That's a shame about your video card. I hope you can get that sorted out.

Thanks for your help and support over the last few months. It's been great to have people willing to test the plugin and report back problems and suggestions.

I will have a look at GBPVR some time down the track. But I can't make any promises. I've got a lot on my plate at the moment. This Vista stuff is giving me a real headache for one.

See you in the future,

please help me, i have no idea why but i cant get the send keystroke command to work.

The remote is working perfectly and I have the latest drivers / plugin installed. I am using the latest stable release of media portal.

I have a series of keyboard commands which switch from my projector to tv and also change refresh rate. It would be nice to get these working on the remote, saves getting the keyboard out everytime!

The hotkeys I use are CTRL+2 for switching source, CTRL+3 for refresh rate change

i have gone into the plugin > macro > new > keystroke command and put ^2 in the box that appears. This should emulate CTRL+2 but it does absolutely bugger all!

I have tested that its working by setting my power key on the remote to send a keyboard command of ESC and this works. So I dont know what im doing wrong!!!

The keyboard press has to be CTRL held down then 2 pressed, 2 being held down then CTRL pressed doesnt work. so maybe its sending 2 then CTRL?

hi,

Unfortunately there is very little I can do about that. The keystroke commands are handled in one line of source code. A call to the SendKeys command in C#.

I think that the reason your hotkeys aren't being activated is because whatever is listening for those hotkeys is not using the same method that the SendKeys is sending to. If that makes any sense.

The solution is probably to find some other way of activating those functions that the hotkeys perform. This might mean launching a program with command line parameters, maybe launching a key simulating program that does activate your hotkeys. Or sending a windows message if that would do it ...

What is handling the hotkeys, is it powerstrip or something?
