It's part of the MyBlaster plugin in the plugins\others download directory.

Default power tv button

Hi Aaron,

thanks for your fast reaction.

I have checked that the MP's built in MCE remote is disabled, and re-installed several times the replacement driver but still the power tv button doesn't want to do anything else than standby the computer. The others buttons follow the mapping.
Some suggestion?

Ralph

In fact, I will look into supporting the USB-UIRT next week. How's that.

I'll post back when I know something.

Also, there's IR code files attached for your set top box. Give them a try and let me know if they work. If they do I'll include them in the next test release.

Cheers,
Thx dude, will try them out tonight.

Umm, I can't think of anything else right now ... Gee I hope it's not because of the speed settings I've added... Because so far they have helped people who couldn't use the plugin before ...

I'll have a think and see what I can come up with ... But let me know about you STB in the meantime, and try re-learning the codes ...

Cheers,
hey Aaron, I quickly tried the old IR codes in the new folder this morning before I left for work. No luck.

The blaster flashes like its supposed to, but I get no reaction from the STB (Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3250). The setup worked perfectly before except for the scheduling issue.

If it might help, I can give you access to the computer by VNC.

If it is some speed setting thats not in the list (I've tried fast, medium, and slow), maybe it can be enabled/disabled by a checkbox?
Just an update, but this may provide some insight.

@topher5000 - I couldn't fin the blaster.exe so...

I tried to go back to 0.2.2 so I could go back to the way it was before the SVN, where it worked except for the scheduling bug. I un-installed the MCE replacement driver, un-installed MediaPortal. Re-installed Mediaportal and copied my backup back into the MediaPortal folder.

I went and installed the MCE replacement driver from the main website which I had downloaded a while back to replace the normal "eHome" driver and expected all to work again.

Nope. Didn't work.

tried the driver install again. No luck. Tried the 0.2.1, tried the SVN, tried the 0.2.2 and SVN versions from this thread. No luck. The blaster keeps flashing, but the STB just doesn't respond.

So I shut down the computer and unplugged the IR receiver/transmitter. Rebooted and did a search for all files "mceir" and deleted them from the windows folder. i think there were maybe 4 or 5 of them.

Shut down and plugged IR receiver/transmitter back in. it shows up as eHome, and I replace it with MCE Replacement driver, and voila! it works now.

I suspect that at some point, it was not copying the driver into windows folder if it was already present. So one version or another just got "stuck" in there.

I'll experiment a bit more over the weekend and see if removing the driver completely and then installing the new ones from this thread will work.

Well the codes didn't work but I attached my codes for my Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100 & 8300. I did a learn from my remotes but it didn't not work with the 2100 (thinking it must be the blaster box itself since the USB-UIRT worked). Is there anything else you would like me to try? (The Explorer 8300 is actually my room mates). Thx for the help. Can't wait till the USB-UIRT integration.

@mythtv:

Sound like you're doing everything right... And you're following the instructions in the documentation about how to install the replacement driver? Going into device manager, etc ... ?

@elconejito:

I did have a problem some time ago where I had to re-install the driver after unplugging the MCE IR box and rebooting ... Maybe there is something that gets upset inside the MCE IR box...

Sounds like you're back in business now though. Keep me posted if anything else happens.

@CRasch:

So is it working for you now? What codes are in the attached zip? Working ones, or not working ones? Are they from the 2100 or the 8300?

Cheers,

Hey Aaron,

Yes at the moment I'm back in business. I'm running 0.2.2 and unfortunately have the scheduling bug back . I probably won't fiddle with it until the weekend when I can devote a bit more time to troubleshooting. I think its more than just an issue of re-installing, i think I need to actually physcially clear out the old drivers before installing new ones. I had tried to "update driver" and "rollback" driver from within device manager several times without success.

When I try it again, I'll delete the old drivers first, and I have a hunch that will do the trick, but I'll post back in here either way in case someone else has the same issue.

Thanks for your help, and GREAT plugin

Nope still not working, but the code I attached are the ones I learned of my remotes for the Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100 and 8300. They work for the 8300 but not the 2100. They are the same codes but I think its the ir receiver in the 2100 combined with the Microsoft blaster. Ether the Microsoft unit (eHome) is not pushing enough power for the 2100 to receive the signal, the 2100 is not sensitive enough for the Microsoft receiver blaster, or some sort of combination of both. I don't think its your plug-in but if you want to try something else? Let me know? I'll try to put as much input as I can to help out.

Again thx for looking into this. Can't wait for the USB-UIRT intergration.

Tried the myBlaster and the same thing with the Explorer 2100 but works with the Explorere 8300. My Explorer 2100 doesn't like my Microsoft Reciver (v1.04 shows up as eHome Infered Reciver) for some reason. Others maybe having the same problem.

Here is the link to the myBlaster plug-in
myBlaster plugin
or download the attached Blaster.exe in the zip

You can get the blaster.exe from there to confirm problems with your reciver.

@elconejito
What version of the reciver do you have (it should be on the bottom of the reciver)?

To anyone else who uses a Scientific Atlanta STB, please share your box type and Microsoft reciver type.

I'll start here
STB: SA Explorer 2100 Rev 2.8 (Dosen't work with my reciver)
STB: SA Explorer 8300 Rev 2.5 (Works with my reciver)
Reciver: Microsoft Reciver 1.0A Model:1040

Might be better to start a new thread but I'll want to see what and-81 says first.
