Default Translator not working with Dish network remote

I can "Learn" buttons from my Dish network remote... But when I go to the translator and click "New" and press any button on my dish network remote, the "Push button now" window closes as if it saw the signal, but the setup window does not appear. It acts as if it failed somehow. I can, however, translate other remote controls.

It's probably that the IR protocol the Dish network remote uses is either not recognised by my code (I have to add support for different protocols myself) or is not recognised by the device.

Can you supply me some log files and also a copy of the learned commands from the dish network remote?

With the .IR files I can interpret them and hopefully figure out the protocol and add support for it.

cheers,

This is driving me crazy... Now, I went into the plugin in media portal setup and Clicked "Mapping"
I changed the "Volume Up" button to Blast the volume up from my stereo. But it's acting just like I didn't remap it and turning up the volume on the PC.

So then I tried the translator. I clicked new, then used the MCE remote and pushed the volume. It closed the window just like the Dish network remote. So I can't translate the MCE remote button either?

ok,

if you want to remap any of the automatically handled buttons you need to disable the automatic handling.

You can do this in the Microsoft MCE Transceiver Input Service plugin (through Input Service Configuration).

Or you can make the registry change yourself (as described in the "you don't need the Replacement Driver" link in my signature).

Cheers,

If you can tell me where these log files are, I would be happy to share mine.

I cannot get IR Server Suite to work with my Dish Network 311 STB. I taught Translater 0-9, Ch+, Ch-, Enter, and Recall. I even went through the Program tab and remapped the keys. I use a MCE IR Blaster. For example...

Code = 31743
Description = 0
Command = Blast: 0|Port_1

I use GB-PVR.
