Try the attached test version, if it doesn't solve your problem I'll try something else.

Cheers,

ok sirbooker,

run it again in configuration and then in mediaportal and send me the two log files.

I'll see what I can figure out.

Default girder & tv3 ext chan changer

Hi Aaron
heres what i have done
1.deleted the tv.log file
2. started tv3 server config
3. then into the Configuration for TV3ExtChannelChanger:
4. entered 206 for channel and hit test (girder changed the channel to 206)
5. started media portal and went to tv then into tv guide
6. clicked on channel 3 (tv picture then appeared on screen )
>>>>>the internal tuner needs to stay on channel 3 to see tv
7. back to guide and clicked on channel 206
>>screen goes black no picture ( i think because the internal tuner was set to 206
rather then TV3ExtChannelChanger sending the command to girder.

i hope this helps i have attached the tv.log file for you to review

thanks in advance
Paul

ok, so maybe your channel 206 (et al) is not set up as an external channel correctly?

If you change the channel on the set top box after telling mediaportal to go to channel 206, does it show up?

If it does then my plugin is at fault. If it doesn't then your channels aren't set up correctly in TV Server configuration.

Give that a try and let me know what happens.

Cheers,

Default girder and tv3 ext ch changer

>>If it doesn't then your channels aren't set up correctly in TV Server configuration.

i am starting to wonder if things are setup right or not ?? could you explain how to do this correctly

i don't understand what you mean in the last post > > (et al)
>>If it does then my plugin is at fault. If it doesn't then your channels aren't set up correctly in TV Server configuration.

what i do know is in gbpvr the tv cards tuner stays on channel 3 all the time
when i click on a channel in there guide it triggers girder and girder changes the channel
just like it does in media portal when i am in setup and in tv3 external channel changer (bottom right corner) i set ch to 206 and hit TEST and it works ??
something is not set right somewhere

thanks in advance
paul

hey paul,

Setting up external channels is not well documented, here is a forum thread that should help you though:

http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/he...nd-t12236.html

this post in particular:

http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/sh...5&postcount=16

"et al" is latin, it just means "and others", what I meant was, maybe channel 206 (and maybe other channels?) are not set up correctly.

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/dict.asp?Word=et+al

Have a read of the forum thread I linked at the top of this post and see if you can get it working.

Good luck,
