2 questions - Video jumping and Avi Quality

Hi

Just a couple of questions

Firstly - Does anyone know why my avi playback through mediaportal will randomly jump forwards or backwards approx 3-4 minutes at any point during a show? I have tried it without any input devices turned on - mouse, remote, bluetooth etc. Can be frustrating when it jumps past a good part!

Secondly - What is the best codec to use to get as much quality from old encoded avi files when playing to a larger 720p screen - powerdvd at present gives me the least 'blockyness' on the picture.


Still lovin the program - not found anything it cant play yet

I am using a build from a couple of months ago, the jumping problem occured on the original install as well as this build - I will update to a more recent build shortly.

Any help would be great.
