Question Always use Basic Home

I prefer the Basic Home over the 'standard' home. Using MyKeys the "Home" button is configured to jump to the standard home.

Is there anyway I can disable the standard home altogether and force basic home to always be used?

Thanks!

Hello timofcourse,

the MyKeys plugin is not configurable and maybe never will. Requests like this have been made several times but nothing has been changed since release of the plugin.

Cheat, make a copy of basichome.xml and then change it to home.xml, overwrite existing file in whichever is your favourite skin and enjoy.

... delete ...
... I think you have to use another plugin / there are several "configurable" key mapping plugins .

Edit: sorry for the wrong tip

I did a little more digging after my original post and found this suggestion elsewhere. I tried doing just that, but when I hit the home button now the basic home does show up, but so does a bit message over it saying something like "The file C:\Prog Files\MP\Skins\xFace\home.xml could not be found or is not valid"

Im quoting the error on memory, but its along those lines.

Any thoughts?

Sounds right, just restore from the original download file home.xml, yes it will not do it for me neither with xface skin, even after deleting the skins cached file.

Should work unless things have changed dramatically that i have missed.

Might be worthwhile asking Harley (create new post under skins\xface) the author, if this still can be done easily (looks not, but maybe he knows a trick or two i do not).

Sorry... I was a little unclear on your response. Are you saying that it did or didnt work for you when you tried it with the xface skin?

According to psycho reptile the message appears if you have a outofdate plugin. I havent gotten around to deleting my outdated plugins yet, but another user reported that by deleting myminesweiper.dll he got rid of the message.
