Default bigger subtitels on live tv

Now I was thinking it would be great for people with a bad sight to make the subtitels bigger. But I also know the subtitels are burned into the video stream. So I was thinking if it was posible to select the lower part of the screen (where the subtitels are) and just zoom in to it.

What do you mean by "subtitles are burnt into the video stream". I believe you refer to "superimposed" subtitles as opposed to the ones available through teletext. If you can switch it on/off, then it is not "superimposed" (burnt into the video stream). I assume the character size can be changed for the teletext subtitles, but not easily changed by user. If it is superimposed, I really do not see it done... simply because there is no difference between the pixels creating the image and the ones creating the subtitle. How does the software decides what to extract for "enlargement" and what not?

It would be intersting to see if others have come across with a solution for this situation.

However, looking through Media Portal menus, I see there is a setting relating to the subtitle display size, set by default to 80%, you may try to play with that. It is only a check box, not actually setting the value. See Tv server -> Teletext settings, somewhere...
