I am going to try and get an HTPC for my new house. I've never worked with any of this stuff before. I built a touchscreen juke using xlobby but that's about as far as my knowledge goes. I've tried downloading mediaportal on my regular computer p4 1gig ram amd it gets stuck on loading plugins after the inital setup. What am I missing

I tried downloading some of the essintials like the dual core precessor bit and i ended up with a blue screen of death and it took me 3 hours to correct the damage.

OK, there are several possibilities for this. First:

Did you install everything necessary? (http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/Med...alRequirements)

If so and your hardware meets the requirements, we need the exact steps you are doing and a full log of this behaviour (which you find in \MP\logs, please swithc debug-level in setup to debug). We need the mediaportal.log.

It's always hard to track these unspecific descriptions down. So please provide us with all information!
