I'm getting a of lot hanging in TVServer which causes MP to crash. Rolling back, got visitors coming, will have a proper go later. It should also be noted that my hardware is pathetic! xp2500+9800!

Cyberlink works for your NZ streams here so if you have a decent GPU then it will use the HW acceleration and not tax your CPU as much.

I have TV3 and C4 working intermittently. They both use the HE-AAC audio stream, which has only just started to work with the new bundled Monogram AAC codec. I've fed-back the info I have to the guys which are working on this, and hopefully they can find the source of the issue and get it working 100%. TVNZ6, TVNZ7, and Sports Extra also use HE-AAC and have the same issue. You'll likely get frozen video and no audio.

We're close....

Is there any chance a developer can update the latest SVN with the correct DVBT.XML info for the New Zealand trials? Both Media Portal and TV Server when updated only have 1 frequency, and so they need updating any time a new scan is done. The correct info should be as follows:

<country name="New Zealand - Auckland (trials)">
<carrier frequency="538000" bandwidth="8"></carrier>
<carrier frequency="570000" bandwidth="8"></carrier>
<carrier frequency="666000" bandwidth="8"></carrier>
<carrier frequency="674000" bandwidth="8"></carrier>
<carrier frequency="690000" bandwidth="8"></carrier>
</country>

Thanks!

Mark

Good news! There is now an update to the Monogram AAC decoder which seems to fix the issues with switching AAC channels. See my post in the HE-AAC support (DVB-T) thread for details.

I can now use TVE3 and MP to play and switch all the current DVB-T test channels in Auckland

Great!
It's included in build 17751 or later.

This is really just a general question and the answers somewhere, but what rate are these DVB-T streams at? When played off the TV server to a MP Client over a 100mbit LAN, will it lag, or run smoothly?

Also ive made a thread for this but i'd like a NZ specific response for these DVB-T streams, will a P4 3ghz (northwood, s478) + ATI 9600XT + 1gb of ram cope? It decodes .ts sample streams fairly smoothly with Cyberlinks codec, but what about live ones? Mediaportal is great and i use it for videos, but im trying to see if the hardware upgrade for HD will be too much. Its a 478/AGP board so if I upgrade 1 thing I pretty much have to do it all, unless you buy older tech which is more expensive.

I think around 10mbps? so yes 100mbps will be fine.

I doubt it, not for painless continuous playback. I'm in a similar position I'll be doing a technology refresh in next couple of months.

Buy an AGP ATI HD2600XT card and you're sorted. The CyberLink codec will use the H.264 GPU acceleration capabilities.
