Country: | Hey guys, am Running TVserver (check sys specs) and all is well I have all DVB-T channels running audio is fine, no glitches no drops outs (never seen it running so nicely) BUT the one thing (and its small lol) is that I cant get the TV channel icons in EPG, I'm importing from XML (xmltvnz) which has the icon locations at the beginning of the XML file, I also have manually put Icon files into mediaportal's directory also but hasn't helped.. Anyone know how to get them going? |

The old UHF Aerial has a cable going into a junction box along with a cable from a normal aerial then one coming out. I have a splitter on the one coming out going into the 4000 card. I also have Satellite going directly into the same card on a splitter from the Sky feed. I am assuming that the only channels I am getting at this stage are DVB-S

To differentiate them look at the network provider column. If it's Sky then it's the Sky broadcast in patented crappy-o-vision. If it's Kordia or from memory TVNZ then it's the freeview broadcast. I just remove the Sky ones from the Guide and All Channels group. Quote:
By default this location should be c:\program files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\TV\Logos if I remember correctly. Just watch the name though as some of the satellite names are a bit different that what you might expect. (ie. TV1 is named TV ONE but TV2 is named TV2.) I think they can be any standard picture format but jpg and png definitely work. If I get a chance I'll post a copy of my current logos which should be up to date although I have cheated on a couple I couldn't find such as vibe and sky movie greats. Country: | Hmm they are in that folder, all named correctly (TV ONE.jpg TV2.jpg, TVNZ 6.png) all either jpg or png but guide still shows default icon, if you could upload yours that would be cool I'll give them a try Might also add I'm using DVB-T, turned off the EPG grab from DVB-T source and using XMLTVNZ only |

Country: | I have a very similar problem, all in the correct folder and named correctly but only TV2 TV3 and C4 show up correctly none of the others work, i am using logos provided by someone else that work for all other people. Not sure if this is normal but the thumbs/tv/logos folders were never there so i just created them and then put the files in there still doesnt work though. |

Country: | There's a mediaportal\cached folder, delete the skin contents and then restart MP, see if the skin displays logo's correctly now.

Thanks thoughUpdate: uninstalled the TV Client plugin for MP (so now its running in standalone) the EPG will grab the Icons from XMLTV tvguide.xml file, then I re-installed the TV Client (to connect back to TVServer) and the EPG has kept the icons for the channels. Nothing in cache dir for skins, and nothing in thumbs\tv\logos though.. so not sure where its keeping the channel icons Last edited by cranz; 2008-03-13 at 01:09.

Country: | Are the files are named EXACT as the channel name? Have you renamed any channels? Go into the channel properties in tvserver and check the name inside the properties and see if it is the same as the channel name you see in the list of channels.

Country: | Files are exactly the same as channel names, haven't renamed any channels in TVServer, they're still TV ONE TV2 TV3 C4 etc TV ONE - TV ONE.jpg TV2 - TV2.jpg TV3 - TV3.jpg C4 - C4.jpg TVNZ 6 - TVNZ6.png I've got the icons to appear now (as per uninstalling plugin in above) so its ok for now, but its not reading from the logos directory (maybe something to do with TVServer reading the XMLTV file?) |
