Hey guys I think your EPG was caused by the change in daylight saving time, you know how it ends later this year.

Yeah that makes me sound like a smart ass but I have a problem I can't get media portal to work so I was hoping a fellow New Zealander could guide me through it over MSN or something like that. Please someone...

I am using a PVR-900 TV tuner and I am in Wellington.

Hey just give me a time and should be around.

I am looking to set up DVB-T in Wellington. More specifically my location is the terrace, literally 10 minutes up the one road from parliament in an area known as Te Aro or Kelburn. I am using a PVR-900 and am willing to be codecs (I have access to free ones, ffdshow). I am running a Sony Vaio FZ11 laptop and the TV tuner is plugged in via USB and is using a small internal aerial. I have managed to use the software that comes with the tuner to tune in prime, TV3, TV2 and the Maori Channel hence I get analog television from the three freeview companys. The reception though is quite poor with fuzziness and static.

Anything else you need to know?

TV3 will usher in high-definition broadcasting on Freeview with prime-time show Boston Legal on April 1
The TV3 high-definition line-up will extend to other popular shows including CSI, CSI: New York, Prison Break, My Name Is Earl, NCIS and Bones.

Australian TV shows Home and Away, So You Think You Can Dance Australia, Rove and the new crime drama Underbelly will also get the high-definition treatment,
Benefits of broadcasting shows in so-called "native 1080i" format include better picture quality

as seen here

Good news re: TV3 taking on the hi-def shows asap. I have a question though, will the DVB-T signal include an EPG? Can it even do that?

Yes it will, but it will be MHEG5, not the same as DVB-S and not currently compatible with MediaPortal. Apparantly this will take a while to rectify aswell. Although it will be possible to use the dvb-s epg for dvb-t channels, except the new dvb-t only channels i would guess.

Hmm, it might just be easier for me to stick to the reven supplied XMLtvnz option for the time being. Got no DVB-S card you see. Seems that the Freeview certified Zinwell box has an 8 day guide advertised as part of its repertoire of tricks.

Just a quick question.
What are the best codecs to be using for video audio etc
I am having lots of problems changing channels and recording 2 channels of the same transponder at the same time aswell as watching live tv. Tried a few SVN's now. Just thought i would check to see if im using the optimum settings.
