Country: | Ah well my new setup seems to be behaving properly now. I don't think hardware decoding was working properly, maybe just needed a reboot! Sometimes I get video corruption where it just starts repeating the same half corrupted few seconds of video over and over while the audio continues, anyone seen that?

Country: | Hi there, I've got my MP 1.0RC1 installed with PowerDVD 7.3 ultra and so far my freeview is working pretty sweet. My cheapo Pixelview B1000 card took ages to get working initially, the driver support is crap. I get about a 3-5 second delay when changing channels, is this normal? Is this dependent on the tuner card? Im using an 8600GTS for accelerated playback on a Q6600 with 4gig of ram so it should be plenty of grunt. One little issue im having is i cant get the TV logos to display in the epg. Ive put them in my MP\thumbs\tv\logos but they still dont work. Im pretty sure ive named them exactly the same as the channel names but no luck, any ideas? Does anyone know if there is any development being done with support for MHEG-5? I guess i might try ravens epg downloader but it would be nice to get it working via the dvb-t signal. I have the last SVN but i might try the latest and see how i get on. Does anyone know if the latest powerdvd 8 or coreavc h264 codecs have any major improvements over pdvd 7.3? Thanks for providing such an awesome piece of software to the masses, keep up the good work!!!! Cheers, Ben |

Country: | A quick question: Prime signal is crap where I live :-( At the moment when we change to Prime I often get "no Audio/video detected" - is that just because the signal from the PVR150 is so bad that MP (or the tuner itself) figures there is no signal? I never have that problem with the 2x DVB-S tuners. Sky has a "Prime" only deal (I don't need Sky) so if I get the box to decode Prime and plug it into my PVR 150 the kids'll be happy right? Country: | Same for me, loops half a second - have only come across this about 4 times in the last month and it is usually when i've been tuned to TV3 for 2hours+ Vista 32bit (EVR) Geforce 9600GT (7.15.11.7474) PowerDVD8 Ultra H.264 Codec (PureVideoHD enabled) Quote:
3-5seconds is a little longer than what I've heard from most people, Mine will take 1-2seconds to change channel using a Hauppauge tv tuner. I'd say the 3-5 seconds its taking is because of your TV tuner as everything else in your machine is more than capable. I believe TVServer actually chooses to delay showing the changed channel by 2 seconds to make sure the timeshift files have changed correctly. The settings for this are in TVServer configuration under General Settings on the Scan tab, I'm not sure if I'd recommend changing them - I've changed scan to 1second but when I change channels everything pixelates for 1 second then changes correctly. TV Logo's now need to be placed in "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\tv\logos\" instead of "C: Program Files\...". the ProgramData folder is usually hidden so you might need to manually type the folder into the address bar at the top. No idea on MHEG-5, would love it to be supported but haven't heard anything yet. I'm using Reven's xmlTVNZ which works a treat but would be nice if it was all built into one. I'm running PowerDVD8 Ultra instead of 7.3 now, to be honest I haven't really noticed a difference between the two but I hear 8 is supposed to be "faster". CoreAVC currently does not support hardware decoding, it is still software only, though hardware decoding is being added to the professional version of CoreAVC soon (maybe in 1.8?). It would be best to stick with PowerDVD for now if you are using a graphics card that has onboard decoding of H.264 Hope this helps, Jon

Country: | Just a thought for those with channel changes taking a long time; Check that you don't have a long time set in the blaster delay settings box (sorry i can't remember exactly where this is) It's effectively how long after you press the button until it responds with the command. If this is set to 2-3 seconds it can give the impression of a very long channel change. Just a thought. |

Country: | Hi Jon, Wicked, thanks heaps, ill try that ProgramData folder instead. I tried that freeviewnz epg grabber, it grabs the listings sweet but it appears to throw an error putting the file into the proper mediaportal folder. Instead it chucks it into the root of c:\. I might set up a scheduled task to copy the file but i was wondering if anyone else has seen this issue with version 1.6 under vista sp1? in any case it pulls the epg data in mint. hmm, i figure my tuner card is probably pretty stinko, its 78 bucks from C1 :-) still, it seems to run ok. I get the occasional video freeze and have to switch channels to fix it, not a major unless i was recording something...oh well. so far everything is running quite well. much better than that POS vista media center software! Thanks guys! Ben ![]() |
