| Hi, I'm another MP New Zealand from Christchurch. I currently use an HVR 2200 for DVB-T and it all works pretty well. The only problem is that the EPG doesn't seem to be working. What is the correct way to set it up so it grabs the EPG from the air? Thanks |

That should be all there is to it, unless I have forgotten something. Edit: Looks like selecting English is necessary. Im using the EPG just to get Parliment TV and Freeview HD data (don't like empty channels in my guide!) as I don't need full data. OK so I would like to post here again about something different, getting hardware acceleration working with a Nvidia 8600GT. For some reason whatever combination of settings I try with VRM/EVR and H.264 codecs (I have PowerCinema 5 and PowerDVD 8 installed) I still get 100% on TV3. Given how badly the video lags 90% of the time, this isn't any good (in fact the reason I moved the graphics card over from my machine). I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed, and this worked on my main machine (2.6GHz X2, same gfx card) with the PowerCinema5 codec. I could watch TV3 with no lag, very low CPU usage. The only significant difference is a drop to the 2.4GHz single core in the media center, however this should still be heaps of grunt with hardware decoding. What can I do to verify HD hardware decoding? I have some recorded shows I could use (don't feel like downloading a huge demo off the net), just can't find any suitable software. Update: OK fingers crossed it is working, with PowerDVD8, EVR and Vista Home Premium SP1. CPU usage is high (~50%) but it is watchable and that is all I want. Hope this helps someone. Country: | Since getting MP up and running I get duplicated programme description information from the DVB-S EPG. It seems like the description is repeated. Is everyone else getting this too? Is there a fix? Thanks |

Country: | I also get this, haven't investigated it as I've been concentrating on getting PowerDVD to intergrate.

Country: | Regarding teletext page 801 and subtitles in the DVB-S freeview service. I know it hasn't been working at all through mediaportal. I've finally manage to get my system nice and stable with no picture or sound or any other problems at all, aside from the teletext subtitles function. I did a quick search of these forums yesterday and came across this recent thread: Problem with DVB subtitles To recap - I'm using RC1 with no later SVN builds. Teletext subtitles appear, slow down, then eventually crash mediaportal Because I don't want to upset my stable system unnecessarily, can anyone in NZ confirm whether the SVN linked to by Tourettes works for page 801? Also, is there any way to use the Analog and DVB-T side of my HVR-2200 in MP, so I can watch Prime too? ![]() | ||

Country: | No it definitely isn't hard to setup. 1) Donate to reven to obtain the latest v3 RC 2) Put it all in a folder somewhere (I just chuck it in C drive) 3) Setup a guide.cmd in that folder. If you use defaults for all then: Code: xmlTVNZ.exe tvguide.xml -days 8 default_tv1 default_tv2 default_tv3 default_c4 default_tvnz6 default_tvnz7 default_tvnzsportextra sat_prime ![]() 4) Setup guide.cmd as a daily run with task scheduler 5) Add the xmlTV plugin to the TV server config, point it to the right folder and update. Then go to mappings and make sure it all correct and save. That should be it. If you need help post here, or here is a detailed guide . It is for v0.2.3 but mostly still applicable, if not simpler, with the new version. I have to add I agree with mcraenz, this is the best part of a PVR ![]() |
