Country: | Oh WOW, hey man, cool guide ![]() I'm using the one with LNB settings.. LOF1: 11300 LOF2: 11300 LNBSW: 20000 So I suspect it's an older satallite.... I don't actually know, I just had an old satallite on my roof and the tv guy just put a splitter in for me..... I believe I"m jacking it from the bar down stairs ![]() |

Country: | What card are you using? Sounds like it could be a signal problem though, also if they (down stairs) turn off their (presumably sky) decoder then the LNB on the dish won't be getting any power (assuming they are on the power pass side of the splitter) and you won't be getting any signal at all. Where is the splitter installed?

Country: | Hello Fellow New Zealanders, First off, thanks for all the information on here, I would never have got things working as far as they have without this forum! But I do have a question... I had MP (with all NZ freeview channels) all set up nicely on t'wife's vista box but a change in situation meant that I had to port everything over to my XP box instead. Now I thought my PC was of considerably higher spec than hers (it is) but with MP set up, TV1, 2 and 3 were playing in slow-motion video even though the sound was fine. C4, however was perfect. I eventually worked out that the problem was that my processor just wasn't man enough for the sw decompression via CoreAVC (I bought the professional version for the vista box then installed it on the XP box when the TV card moved). Luckily I found a thread somewhere that said CoreAVC doesn't make use of the .h264 hardware acceleration on my HD3850 card and did it all in software, hence the 100% processor load and dropped frames. Even more luckily I got a copy of Cyberlinks PowerCinema with the TV card so installed it to get the Cyberling .h264 decoder, which does use the hardware acceleration on the HD3850. So I set mediaportal setup to use the Cyberlink decoder and, presto, TV1, 2 and even 3 are all running near perfect (a little stutter but I can live with that). However C4 has suddenly decided not to work at all! I have tested things by leaving everything the same except changing between the Cyberlink decoder (where I get TV1, 2 and 3 fine but black screen and MP lockup for C4) and CoreAVC (where I get C4 perfect and TV1, 2 and 3 in slow mo / lots of dropped frames). I thought that maybe signal strenght or tuning might have been an issue at first but C4 and TV3 are both on the same frequesncy here in Hamilton and I would have thought if any channel was going to be hard to sort out it would be TV3! Just for informaiton, this is the setup for C4: Freq: 690000 NetworkID 8746 TrasportId 29 ServiceID 1301 Bandwidth 8 MHz VideoPid 0 AudioPid 0 Any ideas guru's? Is there a frequency tweek I need for C4 under Cyberlink? Are there any Cyberlink decoder settings I should be concerned with? Is there any way to map C4 (only) to use the CoreAVC decoder? Thanks in advance for any help, Sylvester |

Country: | I doubt that the problem is related to the signal or tuner card because C4 is on the same MUX as TV3. I know that people have had issues playing back the interlaced channels with ATI cards and most have opted for Nvidia card as a remedy, I have seen other reports though of people having success with AIT. ![]() geekzone has extensive discussions on this. If you think you have a signal problem check you tvserver tswriter log for continuity errors.

Country: | Can someone confirm for me that we can actually receive 5.1 signals with freeview hd in NZ? I'm using a hauppauge dvb-t card and whilst I can watch HD it all seems to come through as stereo. I'm using Powerdvd8 to decode the h264 stream and am using analog outputs on my motherboard to get 5.1 signals out, which works great for dvd content etc. I'm thinking I must have misconfigured pdvd or something. Do they only broadcast 5.1 for the shows that are broadcast in HD? Cheers |

cranznz - Introduction this one is a little out of date as the latest version of MP has the TVserver built into the download but it alos gives some good pointers: Tech Blog | Hayden Tennent: Configuring MediaPortal for Freeview NZ [Quick Guide] Quote:
Sylvester Well I have ahad a look at the log but can't make head not tail of it. The only thing that looks slightly strange is the line saying "stream rejected - pid: 0x3eb stream type: 0xb logical type: 0xb descriptor length: 18". I ran MP with the cyberlink codec, selected C4 and then used task manager to crash out of it when it locked. Anyone with a brain see any obvious problems? 09-09-2008 11:20:33.62 CMpTs::ctor() 09-09-2008 11:20:33.78 CMpTsFilterPin:ctor 09-09-2008 11:20:33.78 PatParser:Reset(0) 09-09-2008 11:20:33.78 NIT:Reset 09-09-2008 11:20:33.78 PatParser::Reset done 09-09-2008 11:20:33.78 epg:ResetEPG() 09-09-2008 11:20:33.93 mhw ctor 09-09-2008 11:20:33.187 KNCBDA_CI_Enable 09-09-2008 11:20:33.187 knc not detected. releasing library 09-09-2008 11:20:33.234 TechnoTrend:loaded ttBdaDrvApi_Dll.dll 09-09-2008 11:20:33.250 Releasing TechnoTrend library 09-09-2008 11:20:33.437 analyzer: reset 09-09-2008 11:20:33.453 cagrabber: reset 09-09-2008 11:20:33.468 epg: reset 09-09-2008 11:20:33.468 epg:ResetEPG() 09-09-2008 11:20:33.468 mhw reset 09-09-2008 11:20:33.796 CMpTsFilter: ause()09-09-2008 11:20:36.765 CMpTsFilter::Run() 09-09-2008 11:20:36.796 pmtgrabber: set callback:d60038 09-09-2008 11:20:36.796 pmtgrabber: grab pmt:12d sid:515 09-09-2008 11:20:36.796 service_id=1301 09-09-2008 11:20:36.812 pmtgrabber: got pmt 12d sid:515 09-09-2008 11:20:36.812 pmtgrabber: got pmt version:3 -1 09-09-2008 11:20:36.812 pmtgrabber: do calback 09-09-2008 11:20:36.906 analyzer: set video pid:1c3 09-09-2008 11:20:36.906 analyzer: reset 09-09-2008 11:20:36.937 analyzer: set audio pid:191 09-09-2008 11:20:36.937 analyzer: reset 09-09-2008 11:20:37.93 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] set filename:E:\TV Recordings\live2-0.ts 09-09-2008 11:20:37.93 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] transport stream mode 09-09-2008 11:20:37.93 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] paused=yes 09-09-2008 11:20:37.93 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] Received from TvService: pmt pid:0x12d serviceId: 0x515 pmtlength:86 09-09-2008 11:20:37.109 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] Old pids cleared 09-09-2008 11:20:37.109 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] got pmt - tableid: 0x2 section_length: 86 sid: 0x515 09-09-2008 11:20:37.109 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] PMT parsed - Pid 0x12d ServiceId 0x515 stream count: 3 09-09-2008 11:20:37.109 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] pcr pid:0x1c3 09-09-2008 11:20:37.109 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] SetPcrPid clear old PIDs 09-09-2008 11:20:37.125 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] add video stream pid: 0x1c3 fake pid: 0x30 stream type: 0x1b logical type: 0x1b descriptor length: 11 09-09-2008 11:20:37.125 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] add audio stream pid: 0x191 fake pid: 0x40 stream type: 0x11 logical type: 0x11 descriptor length: 18 09-09-2008 11:20:37.125 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] stream rejected - pid: 0x3eb stream type: 0xb logical type: 0xb descriptor length: 18 09-09-2008 11:20:37.125 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] paused=no 09-09-2008 11:20:37.156 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] Start 'E:\TV Recordings\live2-0.ts.tsbuffer' 09-09-2008 11:20:37.171 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] SetVideoAudioObserver observer ok 09-09-2008 11:20:37.187 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] start of video detected 09-09-2008 11:20:37.203 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] clear TS packet queue 09-09-2008 11:20:37.203 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] Info : Next broadcaster program clock reference rollover : 0 days 05:39:45 288 09-09-2008 11:20:37.296 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] start of audio detected 09-09-2008 11:22:29.640 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] Stop 'E:\TV Recordings\live2-0.ts.tsbuffer' 09-09-2008 11:22:29.640 DiskRecorder[TIMESHIFT] Reset 09-09-2008 11:22:29.656 del m_pVideoAnalyzer 09-09-2008 11:22:29.656 analyzer: reset Last edited by sylvester1; 2008-09-09 at 01:33. Country: | I have an issue with timeshifting on my setup however I thought I should ask whether this is by design or not.. The timeshift buffer is deleted after the program ends so I cant see that program that was on earlier i.e. missing the weather but Campbell live is in and you cant rewind 10 mins despite the timeshifting Is this normal or have a missed something? Thanks |

Country: | Hi, recently built my media centre and started using media portal to get freeview/HD (aerial). One channel I have difficulty with is Prime. Can get video but no audio. Live Tga and think aerial is directed to Te Aroha. Quality of all other channels great. |

Country: | bobfrog as far as i know sky has not yet started broadcasting prime over freeview, to get it you'll have to use a standard old analog tv card.

Country: | My card has digital and analogue receivers so that side of it should be ok. Problem is it doesn't pick up Prime on auto search and when I entered in the frequencies manually I got a picture but no sound. |
