Default can i reinstall MP without losing my settings?

can i uninstall and reinstall MP without losing my settings in MP?

i need to reinstall MP but i don't want to lose my settings.
especially the movie settings.
it took my a long time to get the right data for every movie (covers etc)

There is a page in the manual explaining a method to use a shared database.
If you basically use that process to put your database in it's own location (folder), the you just need to point a new installation to that folder again.
