fixed Choppy radio and video

Hi all,

I am new to media portal but am totally on board with it. I currently have the latest build (0.2.3.0) My system specs are : Biostar 6100-m9 MB
AMD 4400 X2 CPU Dual Core
1 gig of RAM
XFX 6800 XTreme 256mb DDR3 dual TVI PCI-E GPU
Hauppauge PVR 250 with remote.
Windows XP w/SP2
Western Digital 120g HDD (Main system programs and OS)
Western Digital 500 gig HDD (Media Storage)

My trouble is I can received radio stations via the hauppauge card as well as video from my Dish 301 STB (via coax) but after a few minutes it becomes choppy and then fades out all together. If I change channesl and then change back it will come back on but then go choppy after a few minutes and stop again.

I finally got the video to work well by removing one of the ram sticks (had 2 gigs to begin with of HyperX Kingston) and now it is decent. But radio does the same thing.

I have downloaded teh fddshow codecs and followed the how to guide on here but it is driving me crazy. Does anyone have any suggestions for making both the video and especially the radio playback without any trouble?

I have been messing with this for 2 weeks now and no luck. I hate to bother you guys with something that is probably trivial to you but I am at my wits end.

Download the AMD dual core optimizer, should solve stuttering and stick your ram back in.

Dual Core Optimizer fixed the problem. Thank you so much. I am very excited about this again. I have my remote setup and working and all that is left is to get my EPG working and for my USB-UIRT to change channels on my Dish 301 STB.

Thanks again for your fast and reliable help,
