Country: | Hiyas, Ok I have media portal working with the Australian EPG and I try to set compression options but nothing works. The created files are still enormous. I think I'm missing something but how do i setup automatic compression of my tv shows - xvid, divx, etc. Cheers, Pen |

Country: | If you are talking about MP's internal compress feature, this will only work to convert dvr-ms to mpeg. Try the Video Transcoding plugin or external application MCEBuddy for dvr-ms\mpeg files, this is handy, as you can set a delay, ie 15 day's before it will do anything, so it gives a chance to watch\delete\keep if you want to, warning do not set to automatically delete original file, do this manually.

Country: | Video Editor will just let you edit your file and save to full mpeg2, this is manual operation, but great if you want to be exact in your cuts\splicing. Video Transcoder will take your recordings and with comskips help hopefully get rid of the adverts, then convert to a much smaller avi. file, ie xvid\divx, not sure which formats it fully supports, as just not got time to play with everything regarding mediaportal.
