Default Copying DVDs to HD

I've been looking around a bit as well as checking out some plugins and since I'm still learning how this program works I'm not sure if I'm missing something.

I am looking for a way that I can copy my DVDs to my HD including all the menus and everything. I would like to do this from within Media Portal itself but if there is no plugin available I'll live with it.

I did copy a couple of DVDs using a external program to my Hard Drive (The Holy Grail and Casino Royal). When I tell it to scan for new movies it searches IMDB but barely picks up any information. Most of it is unknown, any idea what is causing this or how to fix it?

Thanks for your help

Daryl

Not possible from within MP

If using 0.2.2.0 version of MP, IMDB changed there search parameters and the code had to be altered to compensate, this is in the newer svn releases
only.

Ok, next question then. What would be the best file format to backup the DVD into. I'm thinking an ISO is probably the best idea. I want the ability to be able to burn a complete DVD (just like the original) from the file. I also understand that MP is able to play an ISO with the help from DAEMON tools.

Since I'm a little bit out of the loop on recent DVD encryption, what would be the best program to backup/rip the DVDs into such a format? If it seems like I am really going in a wrong direction here let me know.

As a general rule how stable are the SVN releases. Are they usually pretty reliable or still fairly buggy? Also how often do the SVNs make it to a stable release, if it is soon I might as well just wait for a stable.

Thanks again for your help.
