Country: | Hi all I have been using media portal for 24hrs now and i cant believe how good it actually is,however- i need advice on a couple of issues.- 1.I'm trying to make my whole music library look nice and neat in media portal by having the cover art as thumbnails but for some reason i can get some cover art to be regognised but not others(the album art is what i already have on my computer and not imported from the database). 2.My PC has a VGA out and a DVI out! does this mean i could have my LCD TV and 15" monitor connected at the same time?(I cant try it yet as i'm waiting for my DVI cable to arrive). 3.What is the default media player for movies used in media portal? I quite like the idea of having the info accesable at the bottom of the screen etc but the colour seems a little dull. Thanks for your time guys Gaz |

Country: | Hopefully I can at least attempt to answer some of you questions. 1. MediaPortal will look for a folder.jpg file in each directory that has music in it. Basically, it treats each folder as an album. It will also attempt to look up album/artist images from the internet. I would check to see that your album art is named folder.jpg and is in each folder with each album. 2. I currently do this with an s-video output and a vga output. This is going to depend more on your video card than on MP itself. If you have the option to clone the second display from the first one (from within your video card's config) then you should get what you are looking for. 3. I'm pretty sure that it uses WMP (or possibly directshow?) to play movies. I would look at altering the configuration of your video codec (chosen in the MP config) to clean up the colors. Alternately try tweaking the color config of your video card. I hope this helps. |

| I'll pick up on #3 MP does use Windows Media Player as the default player. But you can assign any external video player (VLC, Zoom, etc)to replace it. And I would play with your codec settings as recommended by jburnette. It helped me with loads of video issues. |
