Country: | i have a 16:9 screen and i'm watching a 16:9 broadcast, but the default aspect ratio setting in RC2 squeezes the picture into a 4:3 aspect. I can get it to look normal and fill the screen by selecting "stretch" mode, but i dont think it was this way prior to RC2. Was this desired? |

Country: | Which Codec are you using for TV, mine still shows correct AR (powerDVD8) with "Normal" selected as default.

Country: | mpeg II decoder = MPV, not great for AR I would download the PowerDVD trial and select that for Video playback. These is no expiration on codec use, just the software if you where wondering, just a pain the download is so huge. Regards

Country: | The codec intepretates the incoming signal for AR, some are a lot better than others, currently the best are PDVD and M$ codecs, both give superb AR recognition ![]() The only difference is no DXVA with the M$ codec, otherwise quality is the same in my eyes ![]()

Country: | I also came across this after upgrading to RC2 yesterday. The new codecs helped but it definitely only came after RC2. This was the case on my 42inch plasma and my LCD monitor 1600x1200. The 16:9 formats were fine it was the 4:3 that did not zoom as before. Thx Paranoid Delusion for the 2nd time |
