I run 3 dual tuner cards:

Card1: HVR-2200 (using Digital only)
Card2: 2 x Digital
Card3: 2 x Analog (hardware)

Have recorded (as a test) 10 channels at the same time, making use of multiple channels on same PID (Digital).

MP works like a dream with many cards/recordings.

Okay, thank you, I think I'll just get a PVR150MCE and a Technotrend Budget PCI C1501 (DVB-C) card then, and just hope UPC frees up some FTA channels HVR-2200 looks nice but I won't really be using the DVB-T function so a PVR150 will be sufficient.

Thanks for your help Bram! If I need some more help I definitely know where to find it.

Default HVR-2200 analog support

I ordered a HVR-2200 yesterday. Scheduled delivery june 13. I guess i will have to use the digital part until analog support is fixed. Where can I find drivers suitable for MP? Hauppauge Scandinavia has not updated their website.

Hauppauge Digital: Support

The card is not in the supported cards list, but the CD does contain the latest HVR-2200 drivers. This is probably because the HVR-2200 officially is a OEM product.

Default BDA driver?

Does the CD contain the BDA driver needed for MP? Or is it the MCE driver included? Perhaps that is why the analog part does not function?

I haven't got clue to be honest. The card works with the WinTV software, provided by the driver CD. According to MisterD the card simply isn't supported by MP. If he says so, I'm assuming that's why the card doesn't work. He should know

Hi all,
I just want to clarify some things.
You only need BDA drivers for the digital part of this card. Since it is working you have BDA drivers.

For the analog part there are still WDM drivers used and since the TV-Server finds the card these drivers are also present. The problem with this card is that the graph building process of the TV-Server doesn't work, which is needed to control the card. I now have to modify this process so that it can build the graph correctly. At the moment this process has some limitations and I don't know if I have to modify it in general or just make some small additions to get the analog part working. Since the TV-Server is in feature-freeze I can't modify this process completely before 1.0.

But you all have one option: You can create a definition for the internal TV-Engine of MP and don't use the TV-Server. This also would help me to find the correct graph faster.

How do I create a definition?

First of all you should have a look at the definition for the HVR-1300 in CaptureCardDefinitions.xml. Than you should try to build such a graph in GraphEdit for your card.

When you think you got it, than copy this entries and adjust the name of the filters and the caputername. The capturename is the name of the capture filter. After that you have to adjust the devid of the capture filter. You can find it out with Graphedit. Enter the number until the first "#". Don't forget that "&" has to be replaced with "&" in xml. The main problem could be the encoder filter. ATM I don't if we need an additional mux filter or not. At least you have to adjust the connections. Save the file and check if MP finds the card and the graph was build correctly. It's a trial and error procedure and can be very frustrating. That's why TV-Server has a automatic graph building process.

You have to do this twice, because MP needs a definition for each tuner. But I don't believe that you can use both tuners, because the filters of both tuners have the same name. Unfortunately MP uses the names to find the filter.
