Hiya..
Yep thats the one.. and thats where I bought it from
I'm using it to decrypt 'SelecTV' pay TV here in Aus (irdeto), the cam I'm using is https://www.hotchip.com.au/OnlineSto...?ProductID=133
For the most part it works really well, although with later builds of TVEngine3 it can be a little flaky decrypting. TV engine2 was fine as were the earlier versions of TV engine3..

Thanks to everyone for their help. Still have not got it working properly but I am finaly making some progress.
On rasising the inital problem I had not got as far as reloading MP I had only installed the Fusion and Twinhan software and the error was being produced when I tried to run the Twinhan software.
As well as adding the Twinhan 1034 card to the system I had decided to upgrade to larger hard drives. Somehow I managed to blow up the motherboard and of course had to upgrade as no motherboard with appropriate socket for the CPU could be found. Wow what a saga this started.Received two new 250 GB Western Digital hard drives and the new motherboard would not recognise them. I had gone for an older style winfast mother board that still had 4 PCI slots as most these days are down to 3 slots I found out. Thinking it was the bios on the motherboard contacted supplier and they sent me a version 62 bios which was zipped, mine was 61. When I unzipped it found it was really ver 61 anyway. So bought an IDE adaptor board to plug in to that precious pci slot and found it wouldnt recognise the drives either. Bought a 3rd HD and it was recognised by MB and adaptor board so proved I had bought 2 faulty drives. Returned to supplier after a lot of emails and fimnally received new HD today.

Anyway I had continued to persevere with install with the 3rd HD while waiting for the return of the 2 WD hard drives.
After I Install Windows XP home edition upgraded to SP2 and downloaded all hot fixes
installed some utilitie, Adobe reader, Filzip, and tight VNC.
then followed the requirements laid down by
http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/Med...alRequirements
which are
install .net 1.1
install .net 1.1 sp1
install .net 2.0
install media player v10
insert fusion cd
install fusion hdtv
check device manager no question marks
installed rollup 2 ( I am using MCE keyboard and remote)
followed thread at http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mc...89.html?t=4589
becuase I am using home edition

install media portal 0.2.2 {unable to graph device} error on running setup

checked forums problem with dvico driver3.60
Apparently on my previous install I had upgraded the Dvico driver to the latest then available. ( I had forgotten this even though it usually is a good idea to use latest drivers). I upgraded to latest Dvico drivers (included in their 3.60 software) but now found that MP would not find the card ( at this time I didn't have the Twinhan card installed) a search of this forum revealed the problem which required a change of the capturecarddefinitions.xml file See post #3 at http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/dv...ght=dvico+3.60 .

modify capturecarddefinitios.xml file
This now got my Fusion card working again.

Installed the Twinhan card with CAM and Austar card and Twinhan software at least now I was not getting a conflict with the Fusion card but am not getting any channels to tune in.

Checked in Media Portal and found that MP could find the card but also could not tune in any channels.
So that is where I am now.
At least I have MP back to a state that is useable.

Ben as for tips:
1.. First and foremost keep a journal of all steps taken as you procede with the install. This well help with reinstall at a latter date.
2. Keep a copy of the modified files that you make eg capturecarddefinitions.xml and any others webepg configuration file for example.
3. Use latest drivers but there can still be problems. DVICO for example only make available thier latest driver with no access to previous drivers that I could find.
4. When you strike problems consult this forum.

Cheers all and thanks to all that have helped. I hope this will help someone else.
Mal

Slipery,

I am going through the same thing, only with the Vista version of MCE. I have the same DVB S card , plus a Fusion dual HDTV card. The Fusion card works fine in MCE, and I can get the Twinhan card to work but only if I disable the Fusion card in MCE.

I want both, so I installed Media Portal. It only finds the Twinhan card. I inserted a .tpl file for PAS 8 but wen I hit scan it zips through very quickly finding no channels. I think I have the LNB set up OK.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your problems Soapy. Unfortunately ican not help as I gave the whole idea away as a bad joke. I did fuinally get the twinhan and fusion card workaing together using uptodate drivers fixed this problem but found I had to reseat the Irdeto card to get it to work with austar every time I rebooted the PC. I also decided I would miss the ability of having the RF out of the Austr box which I could piperound the house.

Cheers Mal

Just thought I'd add my 2cents worth. - another aussie setup

I have a floppyDTV-S CI with an IRDETO CAM and SelecTV card. I managed to get this PayTV setup working and am happy with the results. I'm not using the TV Server as yet.

While setting everything up I did manage to get AUSTAR working I've tuned in to B3 C1 and Pas8. I had a few problems getting the LNB0,1 etc figures correct but once I set everything to 11300 (to match my lnb) I was away.

The next step for me is to get the diseqc switch working as I have a multi-lnb dish and would like to pick up multiple sattelites at once.. everything works ok if I run one LNB at a time but I haven't got the diseqc stuff working as yet.

Cheers

Hello,

This thread is quite old but thought I'd add my experience so far. I have a Vista based PC using the Twinhan card Irdeto CAM and Austar card. I have mostly everything work, MP scans the channels and shows a signal but it does not show a picture. I reckon it's the CAM / card / MP combo as MP does not have a Irdeto CAM selection but I've only just firgued out not to be running the Twinhan software and MP? Anyhow has anyone got this combo working that won't mind me picking their brain a bit?

Cheers

Stephan.
