Default Extracting DVB-T Subtitles

Hi

I know this isn't directly related to MediaPortal, so please excuse me if i've posted it in the wrong forum.

How would one go about extracting the subtitles from a DVB-T transport stream? I would like to exatrct them and convert it to .srt files so that i can use them along with my tv recordings (which i later convert to Xvid to save disc space).

Thanks

There are few tools to make for exporting the DVB subtitles out of the .ts files, but unfortunately I cannot remember any names. Also you should know that the DVB subtitles are in bitmap format so converting those to text based .srt files could be hard (but not impossible).

Do you have any ideas on what i should "google" to find such tools? I've tried for a few weeks not but have been unable to find anything (and I'm pretty sure there is something out there).

Wouldn't a text conversion (via OCR) similar to what SubRip does work in converting the bitmap format subtitles to text based .srt files?

Thanks in advance
