| Portal Member | So with the new RC3 just out I had to try it and it works great. I'm just wondering what happened to the folder.jpg handling for movies. I had a nice picture of a movie-reel in my movie folder that showed up nicely in RC2, now however, MP takes the thumbnails for the first movie and uses that as the icon for the actual movie folder (next to my DVD drive). Using Process Monitor I saw that it was trying to access folderL.jpg in the same folder too, so I made a copy of the existing movie-reel "folder.jpg" and named it "folderL.jpg". According to Process Monitor MP finds that new file, but it still displays the thumb for the first movie instead. There is no caching issue because I emptied my cache (which never contained any .jpg files anyway). Any ideas anyone? Fixed it by deleting the copy of my previous movie db and rescanning against imdb. Last edited by Mercbac; 2007-10-17 at 17:18. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

| Portal Member | oops, too quick. Rescanning gave me the folder icons back initially with blank icons for the movies once entering them. After pressing F3 on each in order to get the thumbnails, and then going back up one level, the folder.jpg had been replaced by one of the movie thumbnails again... So I'm still as puzzled as before. |

| and indeed it did work nicely for me as well, but after moving up to RC3 the other day, the functionality seemed to disappear. I had a folder.jpg in a folder since i was sick of seeing some movie's cover art for the icon for my "movies" folder and it worked fine in RC2, but no go in RC3. i've tried a lot of things but I appear to be stumped. |

Country: | i am "always" using latest svn, so i cant tell right now if it didnt work with RC3 installer alone. ![]() since svn builds only contain bugfixes, its save to apply it. btw. it is possible that it is broken in other skins then bluetwo -> skin bug.

| Portal Member | I'll try a newer SVN in a few days when I have a bit of time and then report back here if it worked or not. As far as skins go, I tested it on Blue Two Wide, Spinsafe Revolve and XFace, same effect on all three. I'm sure it will work again, and I can imagine it being broken as a result of the work that was done to have hi-res icons in filmstrip view (as discussed in the thread on XFace, don't know under which ID that one was checked into SVN, but I remember seeing it on the changelog entries on the main web-page). |

| Portal Member | Repro'd today in SVN 16384 on top of RC3. Emptied skin cache and copied new folder.jpg files into my movie folders, but still I am seeing a movie from the folder as the folder icon. And when I press F3 with the folder icon selected (looking like the movie cover), I actually get that movie's IMDB data sheet, even though I am supposed to be hitting F3 on a folder (called 'movies'). So any suggestions as to what I could check to find out the cause of this behaviour would be much appreciated, since it does obviously not happen to everyone. I have already been using ProcessMonitor and am not sure if MP logs would help, but who knows. |
