uhhm, yes... did I miss something obvious? The folder contains several movies and on RC2, I could copy a folder.jpg file into the same folder and MP would the display this folder.jpg as the icon for the folder. Of course, when entering the folder, I see the covers for all the movies which have IMDB info.
So basically I want to have a movie reel or something displayed instead of the normal folder icon, but I also think it's not intuitive to have one of the movies inside the folder used as the icon for the folder itself. From a UI perspective that would be very counterintuitive, but based on your last reply I'm beginning to suspect I may have missed something really basic....

i have not tried that....

but i think that this is intentional that you see the download cover instead of the folder.jpg.
i will ask the developers

Thanks Chris, please check.
If the folder contains several movies, then how would MP decide which of the movies' coverart to use as the icon for the folder...? Besides that I still think it's not logical to first see one movie's icon on the folder, and then see that same icon again together with all the other ones, once you enter the folder.
BTW, just to be positive also, I think MP rocks and I'm looking forward to 0.2.3.0 final.

Almost the same problem here after RC3. All of my (top level) root thumbnails for movie folders are blank in Filmstrip and Icon views. This is a problem in all skins I have used. Oddly they show up in list view though.

I have this problem to with RC3, it worked fine on my TV folders without any IMDB just folders with folder jpeg's in them. I have gone back to RC1 in the meantime.

One more update... I found that having one of the movie files, contained in the folder, without coverart (but with IMDB info), will make MP display the 'folder.jpg' image as the icon for the actual folder. It's just that I like having coverart on all my movies, and that's when one of the movies coverart is used for the folder again.

After just one evening of testing, the new 0.2.3.0 final looks great. No glitches, fast responses, etc. But this little issue is still there.
RTV, have you been able to reproduce this behaviour?

There were a couple of issues so cover handling could neither fit people using folders nor people using one share for movies.

There was no better solution than adding a new setting

Now you have an option to choose whether all of your movies have a separate directory.
Only then MP will try to find coverart in subdirs and use the first suitable image found.

However if not using this option MP will still look for a folder.jpg to display for directories.

In all cases the thumbs of movie/title will be used and downloaded by internet grabbers.

Although I fixed some bugs the movie plugin could still need a maintainer. There's much code which could be improved - e.g. not to query all subdirs for covers everytime, etc.

EDIT: changes are included in this build - please report back if it works for all of you now.
