I put up some screen shot of where I am at.

I am storing the DVD Movies on an External Hard Drive.

I can access the movies from the external hard drive and play them on the laptop with Window Media Player 11.

I can also connect the S-Video cable from the laptop to the TV set and play the movies from the External Hard Drive to the TV set using the laptop .

It seems from the pictures that these three softwares AMC / MyFilms / MediaPortal recognize each other.
But MediaPortal when I click or double click on the movie won't play it on the laptop or the tv.
I have gone over the MP manual about 4 times with mp running and trying to configure it as I go through the manual side by side. But I must be missing on how to get 3 to completely work together.

Any Ideas on what to do?

What is it exactly you are " Getting very close now" to ?? You make no mention of what you are trying to achieve.

The BOLD typing is what I said in the above post.
My explanations are just below the BOLD type.

In the post I said,

In #1, I was trying to say that it looks like I have all 3 softwares installed and working.

In #2, I was trying to say that even though I have the software installed, it looks like they are not talking to each other (they are not setup correctly yet).

In #3, I was trying to say, that even though I have read the manuals and I used the manuals on screen as I tried to setup the configurations. I was not succesfull, and therefore asking for any help on how you have setup the configuration screens for any or all 3 of these softwares. I wanted the program to do what I said I could do, in #4 below.

I want MediaPortal to use Ant Movie Catalog and MyFilms to play the movies I have copied to the Extrenal Hard Drive, to play through my laptop to the TV using an S-Video cable.

I hope this better explains that I was trying to get someone to help me with the Configuration (setup) screens.

As of last night, I have succesfully gotten everything to works.
I will see if I can put a step by step together for other novices.
