I just found an american reseller (lucky you when you live there) who ships the remote for about 30$.

Buy the Gyration Universal Remote Control for PC and other Computer keyboards & mice at circuitcity.com

I am also monitoring some guys work who are trying to connect the DELL M2010 (see attachment) to a PC other than the DELL PC which it ships with (which has an inbuilt dongle for the remote). The Dell M2010 is a rebranding of the upcoming Gyration GYR4101 (unable to direct-link due to flash-crap) but it is cheaper to reverse engineer the M2010 so stay tuned for their progress (I won't post anything before they got it).

I have read the thread , only problem is once MP is running the power button doesnt register on EventGhost. When MP is not running it causes a power event.
What I want to do is from within MP press the power button and have it go to the home screen choice of close , power off etc
I have evrything else mapped and even pressing the Green button starts MP instead of MCE
It's just this one function left to map , so I can shutdown or hibernate from within MP

i have this dell remote, but im not sure why the mce buttons dont work.. this remote works wonderfully in mce but doesnt completely work in mp.. the only working buttons are the mouse functionality, and the directional pad and the enter.. but none of the media control buttons work.. i.e. stop, play, fast forward/backwards, or the info button... anyhoo.. ill try the event ghost... but its hard to configure this stuff on a standard TV... LOL

You could VNC to your desktop in order to get a better picture from another PC.

Just to be on the safe side... Is the model name of your dongle: GYAR3202RF?

I have three dongles, different computers and the same result...

I also checked in Linux and I only get one kbd-device and one mouse-device when I connect the dongle.
Still no solution to this problem?

It's really annoying...

it seems that the DELL Premium remote is not detected as a gyration device... or so the log seems to indicate... *insert frustration here* the ONLY reason i got this remote was cause it could be used as a mouse as well as media remote the microsoft mce remote works great on my personal desktop.. but the tv just isnt having it.. i dont wanna have to dig up the old remote for it..

@level20peon,

Sorry, I have another question.
How did you manage that the driver for XP will work on a server 2003?
I try to use the original mce remote in windows home server.
Everything works fine, but I have no change to use the remote.

regards

Buell
