Hello There

readers of these forums just a couple of niggley problems first i recorded the end of a tv pro gramme the other day
the first time ive recorded in portal the problem was i couldn't stop the pro gramme recording and when i stopped and restarted portal it carried on recording the same pro gramme a impressive feature but would still like to know how to stop a recording mid way through if possible i did notice that the recording showed up in the schedule options and if i canceled here that was fine is this what you have to do to cancel a recording is it not possible via mc remote ??
2nd my card has 4 tuners ive got the sat as my main tuner (better picture reception more channels) but theres a few channels missing mainly CH5 this is available through the DVBT tuner of my card i dragged this into my main channel selection but it wont work something about no available card ... is there a workaround for this ??
also the timeshifting is there a way to disable this if desired seems to slow the channel changing right down

im using tv server 3

Hi dinotooth2

The HVR4000 is advertised in the UK as a Quad Mode TV Receiver. This is not the same as having 4 tuners. I think it has a DVB-S2 tuner (which also works with DVB-S) and a DVB-T/Analogue Tuner. I think the driver make these show as 3 tuners (DVB-S/S2, DVB-T and analogue).

The drivers (and possibly the hardware) only allow one of these 2 physical tuners at once. I think people have tried to use the DVB-S2/S and DVB-T tuner at the same time but as far as I know this has not been successful.

To stop this being a problem in MediaPortal (such as allowing scheduling of 2 programmes when only one tuner is available) you need to define the card as a Hybrid card (instructions in the Wiki). This tells MediaPortal that only one tuner is avaliable on the card at a time and stops it trying (and failing to use the others)
