| So Mediaportal 0.2.3 has an option for 'internal dshow player' along the BASS player. Is there a way to enable this option in Mediaportal 1.0 RC2? Id like to use it because I believe I can bitperfect sound using it, but not with the BASS player. I base this on the fact a DTS 5.1 CD would not play with BASS player but would with the internal dshow player. I need to upgrade to 1.0 RC2 because my hdhomerun tuner is not working properly with 0.2.3. Thanks. |

Country: | tiptaptoe You can select the internal Dshow player, same as you could on 0.2.3.0, if that answers your question. Regards

Country: | tiptaptoe You can select the internal Dshow player, same as you could on 0.2.3.0, if that answers your question, but you have to switch to expert mode (see top right corner in configuration. (Otherwise it is not possible, as [BASS] is grayed out)

Country: | Me neither Just seemed like this could be the reason for tiptaptoe's question, so gave it a try. Sometimes I'm not so sure the normal/expert option makes things easier for users in general.

I think BASS player can do bit perfect but I suspect there is a bug in MP which means it fades in music at the beginning of tracks - even when MP is set in its options not to fade in. I can play DTS tracks in the BASS Player but the first five seconds make a horrible hissing noise then after they play perfectly. I suspect that the fade in at the beginning of the track (which is fine for PCM) is corrupting the datastream. Of course you also need to set the volume control in BASS to 100% and disable any other effects. Kev | |
