Dutch PCM of December has a`small article about Mediacenters and MP is named as a alternative to MCE

Also a dutch book about downloading music for dummy's mentions MP a lot. Ill look up the titel in a moment

Pc Plus january 2007 has a bit on media portal

They gave it 3 out of 5 stars becuase of bugs and they found the configiration too complicated.

but they said that people should give it a go as its allways being updated
They also included 0.2.1 on the dvd.

This months Mikrobitti (Finnish tech mag) has a roundup of a few PVR softwares, MP, GB-PVR, MyTheatre and DVBviewer.

Basically said that MP resembles MCE interface, free so great for testing and still offers a good match for the comercial offerings.
Lots of addons that improve the software, and the TV part is just a small part of the software. etc etc.

A good choice if you use it for other things, not just for TV.

Pluses - Free and open source.
Minuses - Teletext Subtitle support -

Motley Fool yesterday mentioned Media Portal (and GBPVR) with links as an alternative to MCE or Vista.

The article which can be found here:

was saying that building an HTPC was an alternative to paying Sky or Virgin for PVR functionality.

Just discovered a Video on german pc-mag-site chip.de about Building a HTPC.
They chose Mediaportal as software. Mediaportal can be seen in the background all the time through the 5 minute video. 2/3 are about the hardware. 1/3 about MP.
