MP flickering on Samsung 40" Full HDTV

I have my HTPC connected to a Samsung LE40M86BD full HD TV via HDMI. The picture quality is great after I managed to get perfect pixelmapping by changing the TV setting to "Just scan", which means that there is no over- or underscan. However, and this is very annoying, I get occasional flickering in the picture when in full screen MediaPortal! The flickering occurs both in the menu/skin sections but also when displaying video in full screen, although not as frequent. I would say that this flickering, which is very brief (fraction of a second) occurs once every 5-60 seconds. I am using the Xface skin, but haven't noticed any difference with BlueTwo Wide. I believe this is an issue with MediaPortal as I have never experienced any flicker in other Windows programs or the Windows desktop, there the picture is rock solid and still crystal clear.

Any ideas?

Hello Tomas,

Only wanted to tell you that I have excactly the same TV as you and I have never seen the flickering you describe. I used to run VMC before, and didnt have any problems then either.

Maybe something with the grapic card? I use a Nvidia 8500GT.

Remember digging for the "Just scan" function for a long time, even called Samsung suport but they didn't know

....hidden in the manual, but I did found it when I did know what to look for!

But thats another story.
Have u tried to change the filter setup in MP configuration. Try to remove the two in the bottom in the setup (I'm at work now and don't exactly remember).

What decoder are u using?

I have the same TV (well, M87, but I think its 99% the same) and the onyl flickering I have is with 24Hz, but luckily for me Samsung are fixing that soon! (new motherboard for the TV)
