My Programs, problem when program exists

When I configure My Programs to launch a game I have the problem that after exiting the game (in this case Need for speed underground 2) teh last screen of the game stays frozen on screen.
It seems like that media portal does not grab the viewport back anymore or something like that.
I hear MP running since when I press a button MP generates the crisp sound but I dont see anything happeining any more

Any clue?

I use nvidia fx5900 with latest drivers en blue two skin.

Hi. This is discussed in a couple of threads.
The only suggested workaround is to disable animations in general - setup.
