Hi just installed MediaPortal and this is a basic question do I need a TV card on my computer ?, if so what is recommended.

Well, if you don't want to watch TV than you don't need any TV card.

To see what is supported take a look at
- http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/Supported_TVCards - for the old TV engine
- http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/TV-Engine_0.3/tvcards - for the new one

You need a TV-Card only if you want to watch TV with MP

The card depends on what kind of TV technologies are available where you live : DVB-S, DVB-S2, Analog, DVB-T, DVB-C, etc....

Thanks for info,I do have a Happage Nova-T usb2 (Soho) which is reconized in the setup but does not find and channels.
If i run the Happage program alone all channels are found.
