Country: | I have just been to my local electronics store and seen a Electronic Photo Frame and thought it would make a great external display for Media Portal. Has this been done? ( i searched but couldn't find) Peter69 |

Country: | I think the idea would be excellent, but the problem is that I imagine these displays use proprietary signals and display methods, like a laptop screen does. I doubt it would be possible without a tremendous amount of work, I'm afraid. |

Country: | Just wondering........ Some of the Photo Frames like for example the Kodak EASYSHARE EX811 KODAK EASYSHARE EX811 Digital Picture Frame Features & Benefits have the ability to receive photos over a wifi connection and show them immediatly on arrival at the picture frame. This being the case, could you get Media Portal to send a Jpg to the Picture frame everytime the screen changes? |

Country: | Great idea!!! There are now lots of cheap 7" DPF's (starting from about $70) with low resolution of 480x234. Many of them have a built-in flash memory with auto slideshow function, and a USB interface for PC connection. Some of them can also be used as a clock / calendar display with background JPG image. Sounds to me like an ideal external display for MP. It may be impossible to show real-time content from MP, such as video or live TV... But displaying basic information from MP, such as: * Time and Date; * Local weather information; * Current playing media information such as: Song title / artist / album cover / progress bar / Playing next (for music) or Now / Next EPG for TV... * Recording status Should be more easily implemented... Can this be done today? Maybe an existing plugin can be tweaked? Or maybe an option to capture a screenshot of MP into JPG on a specific folder (the USB device folder) once or twice a second? Should be interesting... |
