Poor video quality with live TV

Any suggestions on how to obtain decent video quality when using a hapuug. pvr-250? I've tried all the tricks I learned from past episodes with other media apps. but with MP all I get is a very blocky image or a pulsing one regardless of what video decoder/codec selected.

Try Configuration -> Television -> Capture Cards -> [your card] -> edit -> Quality -> uncheck "use quality control" or set values higher...

The first one did it for me (PVR150).

i've got the same issue with the dual tunner pvr-500mce

checking/unchecking/raising values doesnt seem to help.

yes MP isn't quite ready for prime time, I guess until the dev team fixed these problems, I'll have to suffer with meedio a while longer.

oddly enough, I didn't have this problem with rc3.

Todd - Have you tried to get onto the IRC chat and see if anyone there could help direct you in the direction of getting clearer video quality?

I don't remenber what drivers I have installed for the card but as I recall early 2006. I also have never used IRC, or know how to use it so no on that on.

I'll verify what I have and install newer if needed.
Maybe newer drivers will fix the hanging card issue just posted, as well?

What resolution are you running?

I know when I set my display settings to 720 x 576 that the picture looks a poorer quality to that of setting the display to 1024 x 768.

The only problem I have is running at the 1024 x 768, the borders are increased on the picture when playing back the likes of Starwars and the image is smaller.

Quality is better but picture is smaller.

The primary display resolution is 1600 x 1200, and the projector resolution is either 800x600 or 1024x768.
The secondary monitor ie: projector is the target for the MP UI.

I already know that you are going to state that MP doesn't support the use of a secondary monitor. This is a major limitation right now and the dev team really needs to step up and fix this.

It's not only that the picture quality is unwatchable at any screen resolution, it also has a pulsing effect. Drivers are fairly new and I don't have this issue with other media apps. So the blame is squarely on MP and it's configuration.
