random manual recordings

I have MP RC 1 with the latest SVN build.
I have strange manual recordings starting manual.
I have no clue why.

Anyone having similar issues?

Yes, I think I have.

It has happened twice - I ended up with a folder called 'manual - BBC Three' (the channel name) as if it was completing a scheduled recording of a series called 'manual'.

I assumed it was something I had done, but perhaps not.

It happened to me, when both my girlfriend and me went on holidays, so this is not really manual.
Some times i even have like 5 manual recordings of the same channel at once.

I have had this too, generally the same channel. Happens pretty regularily too, pretty much every time I look in Recorded Shows there are 1 or more manual recordings, usually 12-13 mins.

Not sure, but when I looked in scheduled shows it did appear that the hourly news bullitens I record was set to record twice, some of the time anyway. So I deleted that and will see what happens.

Sometimes it records channels that don't have any scheduled recordings for the whole day.

Is there a way to block manual recordings?
Some kind of setting?

That is the problem I had. Is it always the same channel for you, it was for me.

It could be some weekly/weekends scheduled show. What I've heard is that MP can't handle any special scheduling options, only record always on channel or always on any channel-options work. All the rest seem to trigger recordings on days the scheduled day doesn't run if rules are set that way.

My example: I set scheduling as Record this show on weekend. And what I'm trying to do is record show on sunday (and avoid recording rerun on tuesday). And then MP records "manual - whatever is on saturday the exact same time" + scheduled show on sunday like it should. + it doesn't obey program name on EPG, it just sets scheduled recording for exact time and both saturday + sunday. Hardly what user would expect..

I really wonder why those "fancy" scheduling options are there as they don't do what user would expect them to do, at least they should be named differently as they do not actually schedule a show.. instead they make schedule of recording at some time of the day.

EDIT-> can't scheduled recording bugs be added to mantis so final 1.0 MP wouldn't have this behaviour?

That is it!
I use a lot of weekend / mon - fri recording.
Sometimes I know the 1st run of a program is in the weekend a rerun of a program is during the week.
So if this does not work yet, I'm going to delete all my recordings and don't use those options any more, for now as a work around.

Totally agree this is an annoying bug, that should be fixed in MP 1.0.!
