That would make sense for me also - the channel that is generating the 'manual' recordings is the channel that I had a program setup to record 'at the same time every week'

That's why 4TheRecord was devised, if it could ever be integrated into MP fully, would be a great addition.

This is not planned, right?
So currently nicest way of recording is within 4TheRecord?

I personally don't need complicated scheduling shemes like 4therecord offers to me. Current scheduling options would be sufficient for me IF they would work as user expects them to work.

After all recording a show by name always on certain channel works, now it can't be impossible to add simple day check to that routine so logic on scheduled weekly recordings would be restored Just need some volunteer dev to fix it..

I agree you, that if you put some options in MP, they should work or not exist.

@developers
Can this please be fixed before 1.0 goes live, so give it a ID in mantis and register it as an bug.
Or at least disable the options not working.

Thanks in advance!

This is all perhaps a matter of perspective Yes, For The Record gives you the possibility of complex schedules but foremost it gives you a reliable and flexible scheduler with excellent conflict management and automatic handling of guide data changes (if programs move a few minutes earlier or later e.g). So even if you use "simple" schedules I think it still offers a lot of strong points.

Then again I'm biased of course

Will judge afterwards.

The possible for mere flexible recordings is a nice thing, that I dont dont deny Personally I dont need any of 4TR advanced recording possibilities as I use two types of recordings 1) one time schedule (for random programs that I cannot make any rules) 2) record always on this channel (for series).

btw. any possibility to open up the 4TR source codes under GPL? Would be a nice thing as your works is based on completely open souce code (TVE3).

Tottaly agree with tourettes.

The only failure/odditiy with the schedule logic within MP is the 'record at this time...' as it doesn't parse program name and check time changes/differences within EPG data;it is realy specific to TIME only.

Also extending this is that if and when EPG data is changed in the future, historicaly set schedules aren't remapped to new times for schedules, epeacialy tiresomefor 'everytime...' schedules.

I have only seen one 'manual' recording appear and that was after an SVN update and the EPG data was empty, at least I got the recording and didn't miss the program, a quick edit of the name and xml then reimport through setuptv and this was sorted.
