Default Reclock and live TV

Is it possible to use reclock with live tv. I've been trying for a while now with no luck, so I guess it's not.

My problem is that my monitor/TV only supports 60Hz (in 1360x768) and all my live tv signals are 25 Hz.

To get reclock do its magic you would be needing a way to travel in the time I.e. reclock would speed up the playback approx 10% but there is no possibility for that as the broadcaster is not sending the data any faster.

Thanks! That was my thoughts ass well. If I rewind live TV 15 seconds the picture is fine untill the recording catches up with live TV again.

Is there any other smart methods to get smooth playback on live TV with 25 fps on 60Hz display?

This TV supports other resolutions surely? My sony does 1280x720@50HZ, not 1 to 1 pixel mapping but with video its not really necessary.

There is another way to get smooth playback but it's very tricky and requires a lot of resources. It's called motion compensation and you can use it with ffdshow as codec and an avisynth script. Look at this thread : Avisynth Script for doubling video frame rates - AVS Forum

How it works: It inserts missing frames depending on the motion vectors of the frames around. The same way modern lcds and beamers double their framerate. But be aware that this is not perfect (neither the script nor the lcd technology). Especially in fast scenes you sometimes get wrong frames and when you set the overall framerate high (ie. 60fps) your movies look like soap operas, but they are extremely smooth.
