Default resalution of tv changes when tv imput is changed

Media portal works fine, but when i change imput on my tv my media portal/windows resalution becomes very small and orange.

This happens inside the windows desktop also .. so its not a problem with media portal.

anyone have Any ideas?

is the tv set to be the primary device and not secondary?

I think so, the TV is connected via a DVI ro HDMI cable.
