Country: | RC1 and RC2 were not final versions of vista, and thus have bugs. the only version of vista that anyone should be reporting MP bugs on is Vista RTM. if you had read my comment correctly then you would have seen that i assumed they WERE using a legal version and NOT a cracked version. the OP hasn't confirmed if he is or not. unless you have anything to contribute to this thread other than spouting your disgust at the setup procedure, then i would suggest you take your trolling elsewhere. the OP has NOT supplied any system specs or any error logs. until he does he won't get any specific help. |

| Portal User | I found this thread quite intresting. I have two media centres; one running MCE 2005 and one running Vista RC1, the hardware is quite different. I wanted to combine my DVB-T & Satellite DVB-S cards in one PC and the only application that has that felxibility is media portal. However, I have been suffering from one of the problems that Shaba mentioned, any attempt to re-size Media Portal causes the program to freeze. In fact the only way to re-size it is to turn the TV off first and then re-size the window, which is not plain sailing, as the applications struggles first then re-size, if I forget and press re-size then God help me. This problem occurs on both Vista RC1 & MCE 2005, and obvioulsy someone else has been suffering from this. A fix or a work around will make this program my prefered HT app. On Vista I have encountered an additional problem and that is the timeshift always fails to start. Then, once timeshift fails TV would no longet start, complaining that it failed to connect to Mpeg2 pin. Any ideas or views please? Thank you |

Country: | I have the problem that I cannot resize the program's window after I have started TV. For example if I try to maximize the window while TV is running the content of the TV window freezes while sound doesn't stop. The only solution I found so far is to maximize the window before I start TV. Maximizing the TV content within the program's window is no problem, though. |

C:\program files\team mediaportal\mediaportal\log\ or your equivalent installation folder i would recommend you post your specific support issue in the correct forum sub-section. this is the general talk section and not meant for support queries. fine the correct sub-section and post your issue there. it should also include the MP logs and your system spec. again.. without system spec and logs it's almost impossible to even hazard a guess support queries should be posted in the correct relevant forum subsection and not in the general talk section. they should include the MP logs and your system spec. Last edited by chenks; 2006-12-29 at 20:09. | |

Country: | Media Portal installed fine on my Vista64 Ultimate. But, when scanning for channels the little window just stays black (no preview window like other software does). Also, when i try to run it....it just crashes/hangs. I've tried other software (WinTV, imedian, sageTV) all with no probs at all. I was told by a friend that MediaPortal is a very program. I'm sure it is...(when it is running and not crashing). Any ideas or thoughts as to why this is doing what it is? Thanks in advance!
