Country: | Terratec Cinergi 2400i owners: Does the card work well for you in MP? My current setup is not fully stable but not sure if it has to do with MPm the card, drivers or a combination. When I first got the card I was using 0.2.3.RC1 and the Terratec version 266 driver. Had a lot of crashes when changing channels (scanning channel always worked fine). It could run for 5 minutes or 30 minute sbut would eventually crash. Finally I decided to make a fresh install + downgrading drivers to version 260 and now MP was pretty stable (never crashed during channel change but I had a few problems when recording two shows at same time). Not sure if I had RC2 installed or not. Then I switched to TVE3 and now have some problems with TV server crashing from time to time. Sometimes it is very stable with no problems, other times tv server crash soon after starting up (today after 10 minutes from start with no client activity however it crashed during DVB-epg grabbing). Might be a MP problem though The card has always worked without a single problem with the Terratec supplied software (Home Cinema). --- Anyway, what are you experience with Terratec 2400i and MP? 1) Can you use TVE2 without problems? 2) Can you use TVE3 without problems? 3) Which vierson of BDA drivers are you using? 4) Which other patches have you installed (DVB hotfix, BDA hotfix etc)? |

Country: | Hi bermag, I'm using the 2400i since about a month and it has worked perfectly. I used to have Twinhan 3040 which caused me a lot of headache because it could not cope with S3 standbyt (I learnt after many hours of work...). To answer your questions: 1. Have not tried 2. Yes, perfectly 3. The latest available from Terratec 4. None I use WinXP and SVN and TV3E from Sept 14th. I have setup both tuners so I can watch and record two channels on different muxes. I have not tried Home Cinema at all. What do you get in the logs? /Peter |

Country: | I don't get anything in the log files related to the crash (AFAIK) because often the server crash before I have a client connected. Sometimes I can just restart the tv sservice but it seems to leave it in a pretty unstable state and problems will usally start happening a while after. I will try to take a closer look at the log files as soon as I notice any problems. What I do get however is usually this error in the event log: "Faulting application tvservice.exe, version 1.0.0.0, stamp 46eb0653, faulting module tswriter.ax, version 0.0.0.0, stamp 46e99f4f, debug? 0, fault address 0x000256ed." Btw, another question. What does windows device manager show? I have: - Cinergy 2400i DT Bridge - Cinergy 2400i DT Capture - Cinergy 2400i DT Tuner |

Country: | Hi bermag, I used to have a Hauppauge Nova-t 500 in my HTPC and couldn't get my system stable (see here), so I ended up replacing it with the Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT. From the start, this card has worked extremely well for me, including S1 wakeup etc. My OS is XP MCE, and at the moment I use MP v0.2.3.0 RC2 with yesterday's SVN. To answer your questions: 1. Yes, no problems at all. 2. Don't know. 3. Latest from Terratec v1.0.3.266. 4. Everything from Windows Update, no separate patches. I don't have access to my HTPC at the moment, so can't answer your other question. Last edited by AberDino; 2007-09-24 at 13:48. Reason: typo |
