Anyone had any luck getting the ITV HD channel to work? I can scan for channels and it picks it up as 10510 but classes it as a radio channel. If I fiddle in the database and alter it for TV I can timeshift but only get sound and no picture.

Have just ordered a Technotrend S2-3600 HDTV-S2 USB 2.0.
Will let you know how it goes once it arrives!

Out of interest, does anyone know whether DX9 is a TV-Server mandatory requirement, if it will be used purely as a dedicated TV server, and nothing else? (Ie. not watching anything)?
Want to use a Proliant server, which is dual core xeon (so, plenty of CPU), but crappy onboard graphics.

Last time I tried to get TVserver running on win2k3 it needed directX as the underlying Haupagge card needed it; guess it might depand on the requirements of the TV card.
FYI the RC1 version of TVserver does not run on win2k3 or win2k8 server now, so duno what the solution is there. My server needs to run a server OS for the other stuff it does so I do not have a TVserver now :-(

I'm running Server 2003 and the installer gave me a ton of messages about the fact that it wont work, but it has worked fine for me pre and post RC1. I think the TV Service should actively support a server OS, being that it is a server.

I have read that ITV HD is broadcast as a H.222 datastream on top on the normal ITV signal. When a programme being broadcast is also available in HD then you should be able to press the red button in order to switch to the datastream.

I do not believe MediaPortal has the functionality to switch to and show H.222 datastreams.

Any chance someone will develop H.222 datastreams feature into Mediportal, seems as though this is going to become quite popular with quite a few broadcasters.

Regards.

I've finally got around to testing out the BlackGold card. I'm really happy with it so far.

Bloody hell there's a lot of crap on Satellite! Gonna take me a couple hours to get rid of the guff.

I'm having major issues with BBC HD. I've tried ATI AVIVO, ffdshow and cyberlink codecs but I keep getting the same problem. I get audio and no video.

When I put a High Def mkv file through GraphEdit it creates the graph properly and the file can be played fine. When I take a little recording with BBC HD and/or put a .ts file from a manual timeshift in GraphEdit I get the error "Some of the streams in this movie are in an unsupported format" and only the pins for the audio stream are connected.

EDIT: It was just a codec problem. Cyberlink version 7 codecs was what I needed, also had a play around in ffdshow and made sure it wasn't muscling in on other codecs. Working excellently now - whoop Free HD

I'm hoping once the ITV HD channel goes properly live that they'll stop using the h.222 thing so we can view it in MP.

I'm relative newbie to MP, I've been a fan of freevo for the last coupe of years - but after stumbling over MP and being very impressed with it's performance I haven't even bothered installing linux on my new HTPC - which I purchased this month, primarily to watch bluray rips etc.
My previous rig was struggling a bit - this new one with MP is spot on...anyways I digress.
I purchased a Pinnacle 7110i dual DVB-T/DVB-S card and hooked up to the old unused Sky dish on Tuesday...managed to get a picture and stuff with the pinnacle software, but no BBC HD =(
Last night I had another play and installed latest Media Portal + TVServer, and it appeared in the scan list...and I had the same problem as mortstar - no video, just audio.
After reading forums etc for a bit someone suggested installing CoreAVC, for decoding - and it worked a treat...nice full HD pic, full speed in MP.
Only problem now is the EPG thing - has anyone got a work around?
