Anyone got any details or any experience with this?
I intend to install a DVB-S card and use this ASAP. I already have Virgin Cable into a STB straight into the plasma (not through the HTPC yet) Is there a card that will allow me to have the cable AND the freesat into the HTPC?? Possible that DVB-T will be required at a later date too - though my area is going to be 'live' for DVB-T after the deadline, or so the website says! so it's not that important at the mo.I would enjoy the benefit of your experiences in this ![]() |

I dont think you wll ahve much with the Cable, however the Satellite should be fine!
I have a Hauppage-Nova-S2-HD card in my HTPC which allows me to get all the satellite channels, including the HD ones! SO far theres only BBC HD, but once freesat launches I look forward to getting ITV HD and Channel 4 HD etc. |

Still think the blackgold 6in1 is the best card for the price as it does all this, not sure whether the analogue would handle the cable side as never tried\needed it.
PCI-E is only downside if you have not got it. cheetah05 praised it as working with MP straight away.

Hi SpudR
According to the scrolling headline in the top right corner on Astra 2D Website - Sky Digital - Sky+ - Freesat - Freeview - UK TV Overseas it is due to launch week 18 2008. According to Outlook that is the week commencing 28th April 2008. Saying that, ITV has previously said that Freesat would be operational by June 2006 so we will have to see. Bear in mind the main changes will probably be a full EPG (rather than the current now and next) and possibly ITV HD, as well as FTA satellite being promoted and non-BSkyB Set Top Boxes being available.
