| I'm soon going to get Vista Ultimate and am wondering if MP is compatable with Vista? Should I expect problems with MP when changing or should everything work just fine? Especially my remote (ati remote wonder) and tuner cards (2 pvr-150MCE) Thank you |

| Portal Member | Here's what I've seen that seem to be an issue in Vista w/ MP as of now. Don't know if this is a complete list, but its what I've seen. 1) Remotes are flakey, I use the MCE Remote and about half the buttons are nonfunctional, including volume (see below), number buttons, the directional buttons, and the ok button. 2) Volume control is a major issue. Sometimes you can turn it up, but not always. I've found that if you turn down the volume more than one or two spaces, you will NOT be able to turn it up again. You can continue turning it down, but until you reboot the system you can't volume up inside MP. This does not affect your ability to adjust volume outside of MP though. 3) Movies/TV is flickery. I've found that on every codec I have available to chose from in the MP config, flickering is inevitable. This is only while MP is windowed, not while full screened. 4) I've had some problems with stopping power saving and the like from kicking in while watching a movie but maybe its a setting I'm missing, haven't reinstalled MP in a while, but its behaving differently than I remember. I'm not sure what else is problematic at this point. All I can say is do NOT expect it to work as smoothly as in XP. |

Country: | Just mentioning, others don't have the above problems, e.g. MCE remote code has been especially adjusted for Vista.

| I just installed MP stable 0.2.2.0 While scanning the tv channel it was all fine, but when trying to watch tv, I just get a "snow"... My Hardware : WINTVPVR 150 EDIT Funny, I deleted all channels, made a rescan and now it works ![]() But I still have a question I posted in a few different forums: When I record and show the file in videolan, it says 576x576, in Mediaplayer 768x576.the right resolution shoud be 720x576 I believe. Is there a reliable tool to get the true resolution of a videofile ? Last edited by Olivier-h; 2007-02-03 at 08:20. |

| Portal Member | Really? I haven't been able to get my remote to work right no matter how many reinstalls of MP I've gone through, deleting of the directory, etc, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for the remote to see if that would help with no success. I haven't gotten any replies on the remote forum about this, can you suggest anything that might help? I just think its strange that some of the buttons work...looking in the mapping menu in config though there isn't even mapping available for say the arrow buttons or the OK button or the number buttons. I'm encouraged that others aren't having this issue so it doesn't look to be a MP coding problem, but its annoying that I can't figure out whats causing it on my end. |

There seems to be several similar problems wrt 50fps @ 50hz in live DVB apps, with MyTheatre and DvbDream in particular having problems that never appeared in XP (although there it's major framedrop rather than flicker). Strangely, if you record said 50fps material and play it back through the same codec through WMP or MPC, it's perfectly smooth. Weird. For the record, I'm using a 6600GT with the 100.59 drivers, although all previous Vista drivers have had the same problem so I'm thinking it's a bug between the applications and the renderer (which should handle syncing issues automagically as in XP).
