Default Windows Home Server

Hi devs,

Is it likely that Mediaportal will work on Windows Home Server (provided all drivers can be made to work)?
It is based on Server 2003 and seems like the perfect solution for a multiseat setup
I saw Frodo's post about 64-bit versions, but as it is based on Server 2003, I'm guessing it can be installed as 32 or 64-bit.

I ran TV Server & MediaPortal Client on home server successfully for a month or so before returning to XP.

Default Beta?

Why did you return to XP?
Was it because Home Server was in beta at the time, or did you not like it?

Can't really remember now, I think most things worked fine functionally, it was more to do with the server being the main HTPC for the household and 'training' the wife & kids in the use of home server was a no-no.

I did like the home server software though to backup all the PC's in the house and give access to various media content over the net.

I'll probably use home server in the future but as a standalone media server and not a HTPC.

Default No WAF needed!

I was planning to do just that, have most things running on the server and hide it somewhere ;p
Do you remember if it ran a stripped down mailserver?

No mail server.

It's mainly for media sharing, through the LAN & internet and full PC backups. Basic software raid too to protect against drive failure.

Default Ah well

Shame no e-mail server, maybe microsoft will do Home Exchange Server to go with it ;p
Don't care for the software RAID, I've got 5 320gb drives in RAID6! Besides, most motherboards do pseudo-hardware RAID anyway.
Is is possible to get multiple tuner support in Server2003?

Yes - multiple tuners work in server 2003.

A friend has a Nova-T dual dvb-t and a nova-s satellite card running successfully on server 2003.

cheers for the heads-up cheezy!
I'm wanting to get something along the lines of $ky+ working and am researching cam sharing.
Does your friend use Top-Up or a $ky subscription card in their setup?

Neither top-up or sky card - just the free-to-air channels.
