Using My Programs with Emulators

I read the online tutorial guide for setting up emulators and I had a couple of questions:
1)Besides using the myGames program is there another way to get an mlf file or Game Info/Images(the current version doesn't allow you to output an mlf file)
2)Is there a way to exit Gens and PJ64 using the hauppauge 45 button remote and/or my controller?

For #2, you can use girder. It's a program that lets you control different apps with your remote.
