My Happage HVR-2200 card still isn't working with this version. I've installed the fix mentioned in the first post and reported this problem about five times, with no response. Is there anything I can do to help fix this....besides posting my logs every time I mention this problem?

Hi

Since I installed this SVN after every EPG-Grabber run TV-Server hung.
I identified (one of?) the channels that cause this and ran the following test while only this one was selected for EPG grabbing (see logs attached)
1. Start setupTV
2. Click Refresh EPG
3. State Shows Grabbing EPG (StarTV)
4. State Show Idle
5. SetupTV freezes
6. Close and reopen SetupTV
7. Start Timshift or Previev (or use Mediaportal for that)
8. SetupTV & TVserver freeze (or Mediportal)
9. Stopping TVservice takes ages

I never grabbed DVB-C EPG for this channel with previous SVN's, so i can't tell if it is a new Bug

This is my first involvement here so tell me if you need anything more

Me!!

Hi Grubi,
I didn't have the latest driver for the firmware.
The new version 1.4.0 in stead of 1.3.0.
For now it works, let try, if I got any blue screens these coming days.
Thanks already, I hope is does the trick.

I have started to get random bsod's as well, but have not connected it to the MP upgrade until when i read your post. In all honesty i have no idea why it is suddenly bsod'ing but until now i have looked at hw issues...but maybe it is MP that is causing it. In my minidump the responsible process is mediaportal.exe...but the debugging results are inconclusive with no drivers or other hardware mentioned.

We both run similar setups, see my profile, so maybe we can resolve this together.

Cheers,
Jens
Hi Jens,
This might just help you also!
Just try it!

Hope that helps.

Doornjoooste,

Thanks for helping out...but i am already running the latest drivers and firmware...after spending some hours looking through forums i have now placed and order for a more powerful PSU, as it seems the bsod i am getting is quite likely due to lack of power... and also seeing that the current PSU is the most noisy thing on my HTPC, i have a good reason to purchase a new one...and getting it approved by the bank... read wife! :-) :-)

Will let you know what happened as soon as i have it up and running with the new PSU.

Cheers,
jens

Hi Jens,

Before you do, can you exactly describe your problem?
When does it occur?
Since when?
Did your system ever run without blue screens?

Did you re-install your OS?

Grtz,
Joost

I found a site where it is explained how to check what happened after a blue screen, most of you will probably know this, but for me its new:
http://blogs.msdn.com/ndis/archive/2...-of-death.aspx

You can see what driver is causing the troubles.
I will check later on tonight, when I'm at home.

Default Bizzarre new issue

I'm experiencing a really, really strange new issue with this SVN.

For the past two mornings I've walked into my living room and noticed the HD light on my HTPC flashing like crazy. Turning my TV on I've noticed the red record dot displaying in the corner of the MP menu, even though nothing should have been recording (last recording was night before).

I checked the TV streams display, and on the first morning saw all three of my tuners recording something... actually, two were on the same channel. I was in a rush, so I just rebooted the HTPC, noted that the tuners were inactive, then left for work.

This morning only one tuner was grinding away, but as I had a little more time I went ahead and closed MP, ran the test tool to grab my logs, then stopped and restarted my TvService.

When I restarted MP the record icon was off, and my streams window showed all tuners idle.

I then reinstalled the previous SVN, as my wife has also been complaining of unusual behavior (non-responsive full screen live TV window, mouse pointer visible in the viewing area). Sorry, guys -- "wife factor" is trumping all at the moment, so I'd rather avoid continuing to debug this unless you determine you need more data or a specific test. I will, however, check tomorrow morning to make sure this is only an issue I'm having with the 05-09 svn.

I haven't had a chance to figure out what the state of my recordings folder is today... when I checked morning before last, sure I'd be out of disk space, it seemed I didn't have much less space than I should have... although the log files on the previous night's recordings were all timestamped that morning.

As all my recording is in HD and I only have about 100GB or so free on my data drive I would certainly have filled up my drive had all three tuners been writing data to it all night, so I'm not sure what all the disk activity was. Hopefully the attached logs reveal something about what was going on... sorry I didn't have the time/foresight to capture logs on first morning, when all three tuners were going.

I found out it is probably some kind of windows error.
So no driver issue with new digital everywhere floppy DVB drivers.

The reason is quite simple. To make the overall directory structure more consistent the devs have moved some files for WebEPG from <programdir> to the <appdatadir>.

Follow these steps to fix your installation:

1.) Copy your WebEPG.xml file from <programfiles>\.....\WebEPG to <appdata>\.....\WebEPG
2.) Copy your xmltv.dtd file from <programfiles>\.....\xmltv to <appdata>\.....\xmltv
3.) Start TVServer config -> goto plugins -> xmltv -> change xmltv directory to <appdata>\.....\xmltv
4.) Start WebEPG.exe and wait until it is finished
5.) Press Import button in TVServer config -> plugins and see if all is working well.

HTH.
grubi.
I can't get this to work .. I'm using vista 64bit, but where exactly should I place the files? cheers,
