      Hi there,

Sorry for the 'cold call' pm but from reading through all the posts on this forum you sound like 'the man' for IR server suite and IR receiving/blasting!

I posted this in the main forum but haven't had a reply yet - can you help me?

      Hi All,

I'm trying to setup IR Server Suite to change the channel on a NZ Sky Decoder (Motorola DTH-335) with a Hauppauge 45 button remote. The Hauppauge receiver is plugged directly into my PVR150 capture card via a 2.5mm plug.

I have version 1.4.2 RC1 of IRSS installed and have selected the Hauppauge remote in the Input Service Configuration, however when I enter the Learn IR commands section of the Translator tool to learn the codes from the SKY remote, as soon as I click Learn I get a Learn IR failed message.

Is there something I'm missing? Can anybody offer any ideas?

      Thanks in advance.

Private posts aren't working for me, getting Apache errors. Can you send me an email so I can continue our conversation. Thanks, Jeremy.

      Hi There
Love IR Server Suite and before it the MCE plugin. Has made Mediaportal function really well for me. Thanks heaps! I'm using IR Server 1.0.4.2 and MP RC3 and while things were working great previously, I now find (similar to Hzaguir's question below) that I have to restart the Input Service after every reboot (through the config) before the plugin will blast my external STB. Everything else works great. I just wonder if I can somehow automate the Config to restart the server each time my computer boots?

      thanks heaps!

sorry to pm, but i see your aussie and may be round

im trying to get irserver running .

ive got winlirc running and my device is learnt and named. when i try to debug tool it shows me this as a button press..."winlirc [digitech: up]
"digitech" being the device name i gave it, and "up" being the button name in winlirc

and im trying to configure this apps to trigger events on xbmc for windows.and im told that xbmc has an interpreter that interfaces with your irserver software

my problem is that my config doesnt seem to be recignising the "up" type string parsed from irserver. is there any other string it will send? ie. ive read other ppl saying they get a number for the string.

another sollution might be for me to map the buttons with translator, but xbmc uses keys like enter and arrow up, and i cant seem to find how to map to those keys.?

any help will be much appreciated.

      regards,
      Dam0

Can you help me figure out why my Mp version suddenly having an error saying it needs to close. I tried reinstalling Mp but it hangs on the C++ install. Not sure what happened. I tried posting this issue and no one responded. As far as I know there is no new software or anything like that on the computer. I cant even get into to the configuration part of MP.

      Thanks Dustin

      Aaron,

You probably don't remember me cause it's been about an year since we last talked to each other... so, forgive me if I'm being rude writing directly to you and not to the forum.
By the way, if you want, I'll put this in the forum too.

Here is the problem: I've been using MediaPortal for about, I guess, two years or at least an year and a half by now...
The last version I used was 0.2.3.0 with SVN and all that stuff.. together, of couser with MCE Replacement Plugin...
The plugin always worked fine (THANK'S A LOT!!!), after some minor problems...
As (because of Windows) you always have to reinstall the system after some time, I used to keep a copy of my IR codes (its a RCA box for Sky, here in Brazil). I have used the same codes always, and it worked just fine...
My first problem is that in the new plugin version (same problem with the IR Suite, latest versions and test versions), the blast function does not work anymore...

After some testing to try to isolate the problem, and after reinstalling MediaPortal 0.2.2.0 (I lost the plugin version for 0.2.3.0 that worked for me, I guess it was a version between 1.0.3.1 - that, by the way, is still working just fine - and the new 1.0.4.1 and the latest test version), I tested the blast function again using MRP 1.0.3.1 and it all worked just fine... using the same IR codes with MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 and MRP 1.0.4.1 I was not successfull - I notice the interface changed a little... now you have to use Blast-B0 and before it was something like IR/B0(so it's not a learning problem), and I reconfigured the plugin to the new interface... anyway, I tried to test directly the old IR codes and the blast diod lights up but no change is observed at the STB...

As you see, in one version (1.0.3.1) the blast works just fine.. in the other (1.0.4.1 or the latest test build), it just does not work... I also have to say that I tried to re-learn the codes, and the same problem happened - the light flashed in the blaster but no action was observed in the STB. As a last test for the new versions, I also tried to learn my TV remote codes, and, for my TV the blast function worked JUST FINE!?!!??

So, I have to ask you for some help, because it is the kind of strange problem that I see no solution (at all)...
It is not a learning problem (cause I can learn the TV remote codes and also at least learn the STB remote codes), and, at least for my TV, it's not a blast problem, 'cause I can change my TV channels... The problem is just with the blast function with my STB in those latest versions... With version 1.0.3.1, it worked just fine with the STB and also with the television (by the way, I just want to change my STB channels... I only used the television as a black box test).

So, if you could, I'd like to ask you a favor:
      1) could you please (PLEASE( send me a compiled version of MCP 1.0.3.1 that works with MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 SVN and not SVN?? As (and I'm blaming myself very hard for that) I lost it... I have no other choice but to ask you for that... if it's possible to have such a MRP version that works (I guess it's just a signature problem) with MediaPortal RC1 SVN, it would be even better!!!
      2) I'm sending the IR codes for my STB that works just fine with MRP 1.0.3.1 (and also worked with the MRP version targeted to MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 SVN) to you so you can see if is there anything different at all (I guess not)...
      3) I'm also sending the log files for MRP 1.0.4.1 (working with MediaPortal 0.2.3.0-Stable), so you can take a look... I noticed nothing strange at all - again, the blast lights up, works with my TV but does not work with my STB.

So you see: it must have been some change in the code (I guess at the blast function) between those versions that chaged the behavior of MRP (at least with my STB).

To you to know, I using a quite standard HTPC hardware (a Pentium HT, Intel Motherboard, etc) with a Hauppauge 150MCE (so with the Microsoft Remote and Transceiver), and a silverstone enclosure.

Also, in the trial process, I noticed some strange things:
      a) in neither versions the blast worked (I guess it never worked before, but I had not noticed that) using BOTH as a selection for the blast port (it works selecting Port 1 or Port 2 - of course if you have the emitting diod connected to the right port).
      b) in the IR suite, the IR learning toll (IR file, I guess), does not allow the selection of a blast port different from BOTH - it has the dialog selection, but it alway come back to the BOTH selection... - so it's not possible to try the codes in the tool for a specific blasting port. In the TV3 plugin, anyway, the blast port selection works just fine...

Aaron, I would be really (I mean, REALLY) thankfull to you if you can give me some advice on those problems or if you can send me at least the MRP version 1.0.3.1 that works with MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 SVN or (even better), MediaPortal RC1 SVN.

Best regards and sorry for the quite long explanation.
      Ricardo Balbinot

PS: I just noticed I cannot upload the files here, so I'll put them in the forum, together with this message.
